Ewha Station hair salon layered C-curl perm in 3 hours: Eco Revy Hair

Eco Revy Hair Ewha Branch is a hair salon on the 2nd floor right outside Exit 3 of Ewha Womans University Station in Seodaemun, Seoul, specializing in recovery straightening and recovery perms. On hair that had been thinned out too much in the past, leaving flyaway ends, the stylist did a light cut and then a layered C-curl perm, applying solution separately to the top and lower sections by damage level, finishing in about 3 hours. Even on thin hair, the ends held a springy C-curl that brought the volume back.

On a Friday around 8pm, a solo diner ordered the spicy ppyeo haejangguk (pork bone soup) at 11,000 won as a double portion and got 4 bones with meat that slid off at the touch of chopsticks. The spicy level sits just above Yeollamyeon instant noodles, making Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk an easy, filling bowl for eating alone.

On this second visit the writer ordered the new Gangnam Sand 8-piece set with the new plum ade at 7,600 won and a salted cream coffee at 7,800 won at a 2nd-floor window seat, then boxed 4 of the 8 sands to eat at home. Bakerist Brown adds something new to the menu every time, so there is always a reason to go back.

Upper and Under is a large dessert café on Gangnam-daero 102-gil in Gangnam, Seoul, between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, using three floors from the basement up to the 2nd floor. From a 2nd-floor terrace seat, the raspberry cake, lemon madeleine, mango lemon ade and signature pistachio cream coffee were never too sweet, with the fruit tartness coming through clearly. Soottori Hongdae Hapjeong is a charcoal-skewer izakaya in Mapo, Seoul, a 6-minute walk from Sangsu Station and open every day until 4am. Stopping in for a second round of drinks in Hongdae, the writer ordered the value set (Signature HOT + Rump HOT) for 20,400 won, one negima skewer for 3,000 won, and beef brisket seafood udon for 13,900 won. The rump skewer at Soottori was good enough to review after one bite, and the Cass ice draft beat the matcha draft beer.
