A bakery café worth knowing in Gojan-dong, Ansan: Flowerpot Cafe.

After a filling late lunch, we headed to Flowerpot in Gojan-dong to eat a bit more and finish the chat we hadn't gotten through yet.

A dessert café in Ansan and a Gojan-dong favorite. Flowerpot's hours are Monday–Friday 10:00–21:45, Saturday–Sunday 9:30–21:45.

Spacious seating and plant partitions at Flowerpot Cafe

Gojan-dong in Ansan is a spread-out neighborhood, and the café is spacious to match. Maybe because it was that in-between hour — not quite lunch, not quite dinner — there weren't many people around.

Big green plants placed throughout give it a botanical-garden feel. Instead of partitions, tall plants dotted around the space actually create a sense of privacy too.

Plenty of comfortable seats and lots of outlets — this could work well as a study café too.

There's a restroom inside the café, and being a bakery café, there's a self-packing station and a microwave to warm things up, which is nice.

The refrigerated case had two of Flowerpot's supposedly best desserts — orange marmalade bread and mango wakppu salt bread. We were way too full and skipped them. Looking at the photos now while writing this, I regret my past self for not trying them, ugh.

Sad to see summer go, we ordered one last bingsu — injeolmi red bean — plus whatever breads and cookies each of us was craving.

Snow-white shaved ice that felt like winter. Plenty of red beans with whole beans intact, plus rice cake coated in injeolmi powder. I usually dislike too much injeolmi powder, but since it was on actual injeolmi rice cake, I loved it haha.

Kabocha campagne with kabocha squash and cream cheese inside. Great as a meal bread and filling enough as a snack too.

An oatmeal cookie bigger than my palm. Along with the oats, it has nuts inside for a nutty flavor. Not too sweet — a genuinely healthy snack. The kind of cookie you keep reaching for. Want to have it again next time.
