Hongdae restaurant, lantern-lit entry: shrimp fried rice at Ttasijia
In short
Ttasijia Yeonnam is a Singaporean restaurant in Yeonnam-dong, Mapo, Seoul, a short walk from Hongik University Station, and the first official Korean outlet of Da Shi Jia, listed in the Singapore Michelin Guide. Past the bamboo lantern-lined entrance, the order was shrimp broth fried noodles at 16,500 won, fried shrimp rolls at 10,000 won, shrimp fried rice at 15,000 won, and 100% fresh-pressed apple juice at 7,000 won. With night-market hawker bites and a drink to go with them, Ttasijia Yeonnam suits a special-occasion date.

When I heard that the first official Korean outlet of 'Da Shi Jia' (따사지아, 大食家) — a restaurant that's been on Singapore's Michelin Guide for six consecutive years — had opened in Yeonnam-dong, I had to go! From the exotic exterior alone, Ttasijia gave me the same thrill as actually arriving in Singapore. This is Ttasijia, a Yeonnam-dong restaurant that made for a date to remember. Let's get into the review!

Where is Ttasijia Yeonnam and what are its hours?

Ttasijia, a Yeonnam-dong restaurant, sits in the main commercial district near Hongik University Station.

Right at the entrance, you're greeted by a road of bamboo lanterns! Square lampshades line a long wooden deck running through a bamboo grove, giving off the dreamy feel of walking into a private Southeast Asian resort or a night market alley.

Inside Ttasijia Yeonnam: orange lighting and bamboo lanterns

The interior was gorgeous too. Vibrant orange accent chairs, red brick, and hip retro posters come together in a way that captures Singapore's distinct energy. Beyond the large windows, a lush bamboo grove unfolds like a backdrop, giving the space an exotic openness rather than a closed-in feel.

Singapore-related knick-knacks are scattered throughout the space, giving plenty to look at.
Head up the stairs and a hideout-like space opens up.
There's also outdoor seating, which was lovely for soaking up an atmospheric autumn evening.
Ttasijia Yeonnam menu and what we ordered

'Da Shi Jia' (大食家) sells a wide range of hearty meal dishes alongside night-market-style hawker bites. Hawker bites refer to the food culture found at Singapore's hawker centers, where you order a variety of small dishes to share. Here's what I ordered this time. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
- Shrimp broth fried noodles ₩16,500
- Fried shrimp rolls ₩10,000
- Shrimp fried rice ₩15,000
- 100% fresh-pressed apple juice ₩7,000
- Terra draft beer ₩5,000
Shrimp broth fried noodles, 16,500 won: rich broth, deep savory flavor

Instead of Ttasijia Yeonnam's signature shrimp gukbap (shrimp noodle soup), I decided to try something different: the shrimp broth fried noodles!

A whole big red king prawn sits proudly in the middle of the plate, catching your eye the moment it arrives. The prawn was juicy and delicious, and even better with the accompanying seasoned sauce!!!

Unlike typical fried noodles, a shallow pool of shrimp broth soaks well into the thin noodles, giving it an even better umami depth.
Fried shrimp rolls, 10,000 won: the hawker bite to order with a drink

A special side dish I'd strongly recommend as a night-market-style hawker bite: fried shrimp rolls!

Inside the crispy shell, plump shrimp meat is packed in without a single gap, and the bouncy texture bursts out the moment you bite in. Dip it in the soft accompanying sauce and the savory flavor doubles — so good! It's a dish I'd want to order again next time ♡
Shrimp fried rice, 15,000 won: a crowd-pleaser for all ages

A hearty meal dish that's easy for everyone — kids and adults alike — to enjoy: shrimp fried rice! I could really taste the charm of authentic Southeast Asian fried rice pleasantly spreading across the tongue.
Finishing with 100% fresh-pressed apple juice, 7,000 won

This isn't artificially sweetened — it's juice pressed from 100% real green apples. Plum powder sprinkled on top gives it a sweet-and-salty charm. A clean, refreshing way to end the meal ♡
Who is Ttasijia Yeonnam best for?
From the moment you step through the bamboo lantern path, Ttasijia Yeonnam lets you fully enjoy the feeling of having traveled to a Singaporean night market. It's the perfect spot for hawker bites and drinks on a special day, like a date or a birthday. Stop by when you're in Yeonnam-dong craving a distinctive Michelin-listed dining experience.
