Bocado Butter Seongsu Main Store is a bite-size dessert café on Yeonmujang 7-ga-gil in Seongsu, Seoul. On the way home from a walk around Seongsu, the writer ordered the signature bocado, two dipping creams (coconut cream and butter caramel cream) and an iced Americano to go, then shared them with family, who had never seen a dessert shaped like this before. With a crisp crust and soft butter cream in an easy, no-fuss size, Bocado Butter is a fitting Seongsu snack.

Low & Sweet Bakery is a bakery café in the middle of Haeri-dan-gil in Haeundae, Busan, a 5-minute walk from Exit 4 of Haeundae Station. Before catching the train back to Seoul, I took away today's drip coffee, a pistachio madeleine, a cream-filled dessert and an egg tart — the madeleine was light and fragrant, and the egg tart melted softly. Low & Sweet Bakery is the right stop for grabbing coffee and dessert on the way to Haeundae Beach.

Something About Coffee is a three-story standalone dessert café in an alley between Sinnonhyeon and Gangnam stations in Seoul. After lunch at Chipotle in Gangnam with her sister, the writer ordered the black sesame fig cheesecake, an egg cookie, an iced Americano and a hojicha choux milk tea, then looked around all three floors and the terrace. The fig and black sesame pairing worked far better than expected, making Something About Coffee an easy recommendation when you need a breather near Gangnam Station.

The tableside grilling by staff at Jipbul Taebaek made the meal easy, and for two people 2 servings of prime rib with just one side dish is the right amount.
