Seongsu café bite-size desserts to share at home: Bocado Butter

I stopped by Seongsu after a while and, before heading home, I wanted something simple to snack on. This time I wanted to try something a bit different from my usual desserts, and while looking around I came across Bocado Butter. The name itself — Bocado Butter — made me curious what it would even taste like, so it caught my eye even more haha.

Back in Seongsu and looking for a snack to take home

Seongsu feels different every time I visit, which makes it a great place to wander around casually. After looking at this and that, I started craving something sweet — but not enough for a full meal, more like stopping by briefly for a Seongsu snack?! So naturally, while looking for Seongsu café dessert, I ended up visiting Bocado Butter :)

What is a bocado? Inside Bocado Butter's only Seongsu store

Apparently bocado means "one bite" in Spanish. True to the name, this place serves desserts meant to be enjoyed in one bite, and Bocado Butter in particular is currently a Seongsu-exclusive store, so I figured it was worth stopping by if I was already in Seongsu. It's within walking distance of Ttukseom, Seongsu, and Seoul Forest stations, so it's easy to fit into your route when looking for a Seongsu café haha.

It's a small space, but there are quite a few tables, so it's perfect for a quick snack before heading out!

I ordered takeout, and I was surprised at how quickly it came out after ordering hahaha.

Eating in the café is nice, but I also liked that there's a takeout menu. Bocado Butter also has a Happy Box filled with their signature desserts, which would work well as a gift too!

If you're heading to Seoul Forest after a Seongsu date, packing this to go as a picnic snack sounds like a great idea too. The weather's been so nice lately — on days you're strolling around Seongsu or Seoul Forest, having a Seongsu snack like this on hand makes things feel even better, doesn't it?!

Above all, bocado isn't intimidatingly large, so it suited my situation well that day — I just wanted something simple to eat on the way home haha.

There are also 4 kinds of dipping cream sauce to enjoy alongside it, so you can pick and choose. I went with the two most popular flavors — coconut cream and butter caramel cream :)

I packed it neatly together with an iced Americano!

How does the signature bocado at Bocado Butter taste?

What I was most curious about was, of course, the bocado. It looks small and simple, but the texture was quite impressive once I actually tried it!

Biting into the crisp crust, the soft butter cream inside blended in, giving off a rich, nutty flavor. The size isn't intimidating, but after one bite, the satisfaction was greater than I expected. It felt different from the cakes or cookies I usually eat, so I think it'd suit people looking for something different in Seongsu dessert. True to its name, it's a flavor that really makes you focus on that one bite. *.*

And as expected,, eating it with the dipping cream sauce let me experience a whole different flavor haha. Bocado on its own is light and plain, but with the cream you can enjoy a variety of flavors.

Sharing the Seongsu café desserts with family at home

I brought it home and shared it with my family, and they said they'd never seen a dessert shaped like this before, marveling at it haha. It was nice being able to share something new, telling them Seongsu has desserts like this these days :) It was an even more fun day, running into an unexpected new dessert in Seongsu after visiting after a while.

Bocado Butter, small but quite impressive with the crispness and nutty flavor packed into each bite. If you're looking for a Seongsu café dessert to take a quick break with in Seongsu, give it a try. Like me, you might go in for a light snack and end up discovering the charm of a new dessert :)
