Egg Benedict solo brunch and ₩2,000 coffee in Gwangalli, Busan

Lately I spend a lot of daytime hours alone, so lunch is always a struggle. Busan has so many great restaurants and so many new spots I want to try, but when you're killing time solo, there's a lot to consider!

This time I had errands in Gwangalli during the day and figured I'd grab a late lunch — and I found a place I loved from the interior to the food's looks and taste. Let me introduce Vivid13, a brunch spot in Gwangalli, Busan.

Vivid13's location and parking

Vivid13, this Gwangalli brunch spot, sits in a side street above the beach. The building itself has no parking, so use a nearby lot.

Before going in, this coffee takeaway event caught my eye! As someone who's had Vivid13's coffee — the beans here are genuinely delicious. A ₩2,000 price for this quality makes no sense... if you're looking for coffee takeaway in Gwangalli, run to Vivid13.

Dog policy in Gwangalli, carrier conditions

Dog policies have gotten stricter lately, ugh. Strollers and leashes aren't allowed, but it says you can bring your dog if it's in a closed carrier! My dogs hate carriers so, well, add this to the list of places we can't go together... If you need to bring your dog, prepare a carrier and it's probably smart to call ahead to check before visiting, haha.

Colors that live up to the name — interior and seating

Vivid13, this Gwangalli brunch place — you can see exactly why it's called 'Vivid' from the color scheme inside! There's group seating set up in the back too, and sure enough, brunch is prime chatting time for groups of women haha. Several group tables came in while I was there.

There are window seats where you can eat comfortably alone, and the tables have plenty of space, so I took a relaxed 4-person table.

The owner of Vivid13, this Gwangalli brunch spot, seems to love cute little things — the self-serve bar is decorated full of adorable figurines. It's set up so you can easily grab cutlery, water, ketchup, and hot sauce yourself.

It was hot out, so the ice-cold water was such a nice touch, ugh.

They give you a mushroom soup for a Naver receipt review, and one menu item per person is required! Everything on the menu looked good, so I thought I'd have to drag my friends here next time and order a bunch of things to try, haha.

After some deliberation, I ordered the egg Benedict, which looked nutritionally on point too. English muffin + sliced ham + various vegetables — the combination was exactly what I wanted.

With jambon bagels, stew, and other Gwangalli brunch options on the menu, if there are two or more of you, it seems like a good idea to order a variety and share, haha.

There are pasta dishes too, and drinks go beyond coffee, ade, and herbal tea to include beer, so if I didn't have plans after, I would've had a cold beer too, ugh.

Egg Benedict — a two-person portion for one

Time for a proper leisurely brunch, haha. The egg Benedict portion is huge. Two soft-boiled eggs on top — isn't this basically a portion for two?! But I, alone, cleaned the plate anyway, lol.

It looked so pretty I couldn't help carrying it over to the sunny window seat to snap photos — that's me, the blogger.

It came with carrot rapee and salad, which kept things refreshing enough that I finished it down to the last bite.

This is it — pop the yolk, cut the muffin and ham neatly with a knife, and eat it all together in one bite: delicious.

Iced latte — the coffee here is legit

And as I mentioned earlier, Vivid13 is a coffee destination. I ordered the iced latte, and the nutty flavor was insane. At ₩2,000 for takeaway, there's no reason not to drink the coffee here.

Vivid13, this Gwangalli brunch spot, had such a great atmosphere for enjoying a solo meal. The menu is so varied that one visit definitely won't be enough!
