The weather has been wild lately. The autumn sky is so high and clear, not a cloud in sight~~~~~ and the breeze is so refreshingly cool, carrying that unmistakable smell of fall. On a day like this, you just have to get out for a drive :)

So with the great weather and wanting some cool sea air, I headed to Gwangalli Beach! A good Gwangalli restaurant, a great-vibe Gwangalli spot, a Gwangalli brunch café — Working Holiday Minrak!

This place sits on the 7th floor of Bada Maru Building! I was looking for somewhere with an open view of Gwangan Bridge to enjoy good brunch, and I finally made it to 'Working Holiday Minrak,' the Gwangalli brunch café that's been blowing up on Instagram and blogs lately for its vibe!

Can you go to Gwangalli without worrying about parking?

If you've ever driven out to the Gwangalli beach area, you know the struggle — finding a parking spot there is basically impossible. The alleys are narrow and parking fees can be rough, so a lot of people hesitate to bring a car at all. But this place has in-building parking, so it was so convenient to visit by car! You just get parking assistance from the desk after your meal, so even if you drive, you can come without any parking stress at all.

You order at the kiosk out front, but the moment I stepped inside, I kept gasping — wow, so pretty, so pretty. I couldn't believe a hidden gem with this kind of Gwangalli vibe existed. Anyone looking for a Gwangalli date spot, come on over~~!

Floor-to-ceiling ocean view windows and wood-toned interior

The moment I walked in, the Gwangan Bridge ocean view through the huge windows, combined with the warm wood tones and stylish interior, made it feel like a brunch café straight out of Europe. If you sit by the window, the blue Gwangalli sea and Gwangan Bridge fill your view all at once, and the light pouring in is so beautiful that literally any photo turns into a great shot — it's a sunlight paradise.

No but seriously, every single photo turned out amazing.

Who to bring along

The seats are spaced out generously and the tables are big, so it's great for a couple on a date, and just as good for a relaxed catch-up or gathering with friends.

True to its name, Working Holiday offers a relaxed brunch by day and, at night, a space with a whole different mood for wine and dinner. The menu is packed, from brunch dishes to pasta, steak, and dessert.

Every corner of the space — the interior, the little decor pieces — was so pretty, and having Gwangan Bridge in full view was such a plus.

We ordered one of the signature brunch dishes along with a pasta and drinks.

The menu is so varied and everything looked delicious, it was really hard to choose.

• Margherita pizza ₩22,000 — the most classic Italian pizza, letting you enjoy the plain flavor of tomato sauce and the fragrance of basil
• Bolognese pasta ₩20,000 — a classic ragù sauce pasta, staying true to the basics with beef and tomato simmered slowly

Wow, it looked so pretty hahahahaha. The crust was thin and chewy — I'm usually not a fan of the bready part of pizza, but this went down so smoothly.

The pasta too — the noodles were springy and chewy, not salty, with a tomato flavor that felt light and easy. So delicious. It also went great paired with the bread.

Right now there's a review event where you can choose between croissant, ice cream, or matcha tiramisu, so definitely take part~! The matcha tiramisu I got was soft, and the matcha's signature bitterness paired so well with the smooth cream :)

I visited in the early evening, and between the good food and chatting, the sun had gone down before I knew it. Gwangalli at sunset — how pretty is that? Even inside the café, the mood shifts completely between day and night, and it was so beautiful! The moon was out, the moon~~!!

What to try next time

Next time I want to come a bit earlier and try the signature brunch platter, plus the pollock roe oil pasta and cream pasta — yum. There's so much I still want to try.
