Gyeongui Line Forest Park burger café with outdoor terrace: Quokka
In short
Quokka Bite is a pet-friendly handmade burger restaurant in Mapo, Seoul, right beside the Gyeongui Line Forest Park walking path. The writer stopped in mid-walk for the Avocado Quokka Smash Bite, the whole-shrimp Quokka Shrimp Burger, and a milkshake, enjoying the outdoor terrace before packing up the leftovers to reheat at home. Dipping the fries in milkshake instead of cola turned out to be the best combo of the visit.

Okay you guys, isn't the weather just SO good lately?!!! On days like this staying cooped up at home feels like a crime haha. So I went for a walk along Gyeongui Line Forest Park near my house after a while, and I heard there's a super hot date-course restaurant on the trail these days, so I dropped by casually while walking — and I was so satisfied that I'm bringing you the review.

It's a new burger spot in Gongdeok's Gyeongui Line Forest Park! Honestly I used to think all burgers taste pretty much the same, but this place is a real deal burger spot... Personally I think this is going to become a line-up-for-lunch spot on Gyeongui Line Forest Park soon, for real.

Gongdeok office workers who are always agonizing over what to eat!!! Pay attention, because the place I'm introducing today is about to become famous as a Gongdeok lunch spot haha. My instincts are good~~ It's Quokka Bite!

Pet-friendly restaurant on Gongdeok's Gyeongui Line Forest Park

This place is pet-friendly on Gongdeok's Gyeongui Line Forest Park! It's a perfect spot to stop by while walking your pet along the trail. It's also near Daeheung Station and Gongdeok Station, so the accessibility is great! Super nice to walk to as part of your stroll...

Especially for office workers looking for a Gongdeok lunch spot, or couples casually dropping by while on a weekend date along Gyeongui Line Forest Park, the location is a total pass, I'm giving it a gold medal~
Adorably cute storefront and outdoor terrace vibes
Wait what is this?? The storefront is decorated all cute with adorable quokka characters, my heart actually hurt seeing it ㅠㅠㅠㅠ It's the kind of visual that stops passersby in their tracks.
There are even tables right outside the store, so you can fully enjoy that outdoor terrace feeling. On a cool, nice-weather day like this, sitting on the outdoor terrace, taking a bite of burger and washing it down with a cold drink — this basically feels like Hawaii, right?

Since it's pet-friendly, there's also the fun of watching cute doggies around — a real gem of a spot on Gongdeok's Gyeongui Line Forest Park. When I visited, I saw some people out walking their dog spot the pet-friendly sign and immediately order burgers!
The interior mood and open kitchen
The inside is just as cute and full of vibe as the outside. There are little quokka props hidden in every corner, so it's fun to look around while waiting.

The interior is so cozy that it'd be perfect as a couple's date-course spot on Gyeongui Line Forest Park!

You could see straight into the kitchen too, and I'm not exaggerating, the kitchen was literally sparkling haha. No exaggeration, it truly sparkled.
A lot of handmade burger joints get greasy and messy from grilling patties and using oil, but this place was spotless, not a trace of grease. Having an open kitchen itself kind of proves their confidence... Anyway it was so hygienic that I could eat with total trust.
Ordering at Quokka Bite

Scanning the menu, it was packed with everything from signature items to chicken burgers and shrimp burgers.

Apparently the chef here graduated from one of the world's top three culinary schools!!! (No wonder the hygiene was on another level...) My trust in the taste shot up just from hearing the chef's background, haha.

We firmly ordered the Avocado Quokka Smash Bite, the whole-shrimp Quokka Shrimp Burger, and — a side we absolutely couldn't skip — a milkshake!

We ordered one burger as a single and the other as a set, upgrading the fries to large and switching the drink to a milkshake.
You have to dip the fries in the milkshake
What do you all order to drink when eating handmade burgers? Please don't tell me you still just get cola. C'mon~ I hope you're not that clueless about taste. As your resident food expert, let me tell you: handmade burger places have a very high chance of super crispy fries, so you absolutely must order a milkshake.

I ordered the sweet milkshake and dunked the crispy fries deep in it, and it was genuinely so good my head spun, ahhh~
The sweet, smooth flavor of the milkshake meeting the salty, crispy fries is basically cheating; it's an unfair combo. It's the cheat code that keeps you from getting sick of the burger — definitely try it this way!
Avocado Quokka Smash Bite
First up, the Avocado Quokka Smash Bite!! The visual alone makes you say 'that's insane' haha.
Between the soft, savory brioche buns, there's a tower of juicy beef patty, fresh avocado, and bacon all stacked in. This combo of avocado, bacon, and patty is legendary.

The soft avocado gently wraps around the heavy meaty flavor of the patty, and honestly the balance is amazing, it blows my mind. One bite and the juices burst out — so freaking good.
Whole-shrimp Quokka Shrimp Burger
Second up is the whole-shrimp Quokka Shrimp Burger. It's not a ground patty — a whole, plump shrimp patty goes in intact!
Every bite has the shrimp flesh popping in your mouth — it's pure art. Crispy outside, moist inside, a textbook example of crispy-outside-juicy-inside.

It's not greasy at all, and the flavor of the whole shrimp really comes through, so if you like shrimp burgers you absolutely have to order this!
The portions are big, so I packed up the leftovers

Honestly, when you go for handmade burgers, the portions can still feel small sometimes, right? But here the portions were seriously huge — I got full and had to pack up the leftovers and eat them at home ㅜㅠㅠ.
Each burger was hefty in size and packed generously with fillings, to the point it was hard to finish it all. It felt like a waste to leave it, so I took it home and warmed it up briefly in the microwave — it was still so delicious even after being reheated... A definite winner for both cost-performance and satisfaction, top handmade burger in Gongdeok.
Full rundown: Quokka Bite, a lunch spot on Gyeongui Line Forest Park

1. Top-tier patty and pairing — grilled over an open flame for a smoky flavor, the balance with fresh ingredients is on another level.

2. Overwhelming portions and value — they serve so generously it'll fill you right up!!
3. Perfect atmosphere and location — right next to the Gyeongui Line Forest Park walking course, with an outdoor terrace to enjoy, it's one of the most atmospheric spots on the trail ㅜㅜ.

4. Pet-friendly restaurant on Gyeongui Line Forest Park — a pet-friendly spot in Gongdeok where you can bring your precious dog without any worry.

It's great for office workers to grab lunch on weekdays, and also great as a date spot for couples eating delicious handmade burgers on weekends! From now on, whenever I crave a burger, I'm keeping this place saved, hahaha. If you're looking for a Gongdeok lunch spot or craving a delicious Gongdeok handmade burger, definitely visit! I'm 200% planning to come back~~~
