Lunch after Eco Land at Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch

Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch is a gogi-guksu (pork noodle soup) restaurant on Beonyeong-ro in Jocheon-eup, Jeju, close enough to Eco Land to make a natural lunch stop after sightseeing. On a day we visited Eco Land during our Jeju trip, we stopped by Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch for lunch haha. You know how walking around Eco Land quietly works up an appetite~

We were looking for something we could only really eat in Jeju, so this time we decided to properly try gogi-guksu haha. It's one of those menus I'd wanted to try at least once on a Jeju trip, so we went all out and ordered the noodle soup, the mixed noodles, and dombe pork too!

Inside Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch and how the self-serve bar works

Since it's near Eco Land, I expected a small noodle shop typical of tourist spots, but once inside, the place was actually a decent size. There were several tables set up, so plenty of other families like ours were visiting too, and it looked comfortable enough for group meals as well.

There was a self-serve bar set up on one side where you could grab your own banchan (side dishes) and rice while eating, which meant if we ran short of banchan mid-meal we could just go get more ourselves — no need to flag down staff, which felt easy haha. And after finishing our meal, there was a gift shop connected at the back of the store, so instead of leaving right after eating, it was nice to browse around a bit.

What we ordered was

Just the noodle soup alone felt like it wouldn't be enough, so we also ordered the mixed noodles, and since we were in Jeju, we tried the dombe pork too lol. It's in a good spot not just for Eco Land visitors but also for people traveling toward Saryeoni Forest Path, so if you're looking for a Saryeoni Forest Path restaurant, this one's worth keeping in mind too.

How big are the pork noodle soup and mixed noodle portions?

The first thing I noticed as soon as the food arrived was that the noodle portion was quite generous. I was expecting about a regular bowl of noodles, but there was so much noodle in there it felt almost like a double portion lol.

And it wasn't just the noodles that were plentiful — the black pork piled on top was pretty generous too. The pork noodle soup, eaten with the rich broth, noodles, and meat all together, was very filling

and the spicy mixed noodles, tossed together with the seasoning, had a totally different flavor from the soup version, which I liked. If you're curious about both, I'd recommend ordering one of each and sharing, like we did!

Did the Jeju black pork have any gamey smell?

One thing that quietly matters a lot when eating gogi-guksu is whether the pork has a gamey smell. When I ate it, I barely noticed any gamey smell at all, and the meat was on the tender side, which made it easy to eat together with the noodles.

Above all, the generous amount of meat meant it never felt like we were just eating noodles endlessly — we got to eat meat and noodles together, which I liked~ Since it's made with Jeju black pork, it really felt like the kind of dish you'd eat specifically on a Jeju trip😊

You can't skip dombe pork once you're in Jeju haha. We ordered the Jeju black pork dombe pork in a half portion, and eating it together with the noodles turned out to be a pretty great combination. Alternating between the meat on top of the noodles and the dombe pork served separately was perfect for our meat-loving family!

The dombe pork was on the tender side too, so it was easy to eat without any heaviness, and combined with the noodles, we filled up pretty quickly lol.

Verdict: is Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch a good lunch near Eco Land?

Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch was satisfying this time mainly because of the portions! The noodles came in a generous amount and the black pork on top was plentiful too, so even one bowl felt filling on its own. If you're looking for a hearty lunch spot after touring Eco Land, this could be a good Eco Land restaurant to keep in mind.

If you're planning a trip along Jeju's east side toward Saryeoni Forest Path or Eco Land, it's a decent spot to add to the route.
