After taking a cruise with the kids at Hangang Park and checking out the Yeouido night view, it was suddenly dinner time. The kids, who had been out and about all day, said they were hungry too, so after getting off the cruise, we looked for somewhere to eat. We decided on sushi and seafood that day and headed to Ilpum Yeouido Branch (일품 여의도점) in Yeouido. It was close to National Assembly Station, so getting there was easy, and it was a nice place to share different dishes as a family, so let me introduce it!

Ilpum Yeouido Branch, close to National Assembly Station

It is about 354 m from Exit 3 of National Assembly Station, so it was not a burdensome walk from the station. Parking in the building was free too, so I drove there, and it was super convenient 👍 Parking in Yeouido costs an arm and a leg, so thank you berry much ❤️

Even from the entrance, it had major popular-restaurant vibes~ Since it is a National Assembly Station restaurant that celebrities have visited, I thought it would at least be solid already~

Inside Ilpum Yeouido Branch

Inside, the restaurant was clean overall with a calm atmosphere, yet it was bustling even late on a weekday evening! There were table seats as well as counter-style seats.

Since we came as a family, we took a table and looked over the menu. When dining out with kids, I prefer places where everyone can choose what they like rather than having just one kind of dish. This place had plenty to choose from, from sushi and rice bowls to fried dishes.

What we ordered that day 🍽

Ordered kaisendon and salmon sushi set
Japanese dishes ordered by the family

We ordered three things: kaisendon (a seafood rice bowl) for ₩26,000, a salmon sushi set for ₩28,000, and chicken karaage (Japanese fried chicken) for ₩17,000. I love seafood, so I chose the kaisendon; the kids had the salmon sushi set; and we picked chicken karaage as something to share in between. When families visit together, different tastes can make choosing tricky, but ordering different dishes and sharing them worked out nicely.

Basic setting of white kimchi, miso soup, and chawanmushi

Right after we ordered, they set out the basics: white kimchi, miso soup, and chawanmushi (steamed egg custard). This chawanmushi especially was seriously amazing~ It was moist and soft as a given, and it had shrimp and ginkgo nuts inside too, which added a lovely nutty bite!

Chicken karaage ordered as a side

Chicken karaage side dish

The chicken was fried crispy, so the kids especially loved it. If you have a child who does not eat sashimi or sushi well, I think ordering one fried dish like this alongside is a totally good move.

Dipped in the sauce, it made me think of beer... 🍺 But I had to drive, so I held back ㅜㅜ

The salmon sushi set the kids loved

Salmon sushi set ordered for the kids

For the kids, we ordered the salmon sushi set. It was ₩28,000. Salmon sushi is something they usually love anyway, so as soon as the food came out, they reached for their chopsticks. The soft salmon sushi was easy for both adults and kids to eat, and if you are with a child who loves sushi, this is a no-questions-asked dish to order~!!

Chewy salmon sushi

Chewy salmon~~~ The presentation is crazy good ❤️ When eating out as a family, choosing a restaurant can be difficult if there is nothing suitable for the kids, but having this salmon sushi set made me think it would be easy for families to choose what to eat.

Kaisendon with several kinds of seafood at once

Kaisendon topped with assorted seafood

The kaisendon I ordered was ₩26,000. Several kinds of seafood sat on top of rice, so it was a dish where you could taste a variety of ingredients in one bowl. It looked so pretty, like a picture, that my mouth just fell open 😲😲

Beautifully presented kaisendon
Seafood kaisendon over rice

The fresh sashimi over the rice was thick and full of umami, with that chewy texture filling my mouth~ Every time I swallowed, I was so sad to see it go 🥲🥲

Kaisendon with sashimi and rice

I scooped up sashimi and rice together, then added wasabi and soy sauce for a clean, easy bite, and the portion was more filling than I expected. Gamtae (sweet seaweed) and gim (roasted seaweed) came with it, and wrapping it in those was another special treat~ We were really hungry after the Han River cruise and night-view outing, so warm rice and seafood together were just perfect for dinner ㅜㅜ This rice was totally the key, haha! Kelp soy sauce added umami and a rich, flavorful taste that I loved~

If you usually love sashimi or seafood rice bowls, I think the kaisendon is an absolute must-order 👍

Closing dishes of the kaisendon meal
Tangy and refreshing cold udon
After-meal dessert topped with mango purée

Near the end of the meal, cold udon was served. Its broth was tangy and refreshing, a perfect palate cleanser. There was even dessert after the meal ^^ It was topped with mango purée, for a sweet, nutty, soft finish.

A dinner course after a Han River cruise

Yeouido dinner course after a Han River cruise

After taking in the night view with the kids and filling our bellies too, it felt like quite a full day out. Spending time at the Han River and then moving to Yeouido for dinner made for a good route as well. If you are looking for somewhere to eat after a Han River outing in Yeouido, it could be a good place to consider. I liked that kids and adults who love sushi could share a variety of dishes. Our family took a cruise that day and had a delicious dinner too, making it a wonderfully full day in Yeouido.
