Magok Korean restaurant with 10,000 won octopus lunch set: Jju Baksa

In short

Jju Baksa Magok Branch is a jjukkumi (webfoot octopus) and jjusamgyeop (octopus with pork belly) restaurant on the first floor of Daebang DMCity 2 in Magok, Gangseo, Seoul, near Exit 8 of Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station on Line 9. On a weekend visit the writer took an outdoor terrace table and ordered three servings of the 10,000-won-per-person lunch special — octopus or jjusam plus cheese egg custard and hot-plate fried rice — with beef brisket added and the spice level turned down; the octopus was chewy and the brisket nutty and savory. With Seoul Botanic Park a 10-minute walk away and 2 hours 30 minutes of free underground parking, Jju Baksa Magok is an easy lunch pick in Magok.

They even have outdoor terrace seats, which were perfect for eating outside in this weather. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious, so I left completely satisfied 😍

Here's the menu at Jju Baksa Magok Branch. They have octopus, octopus-shrimp, octopus-beef brisket, jjusamgyeop, and more, plus set menus and a lunch special that's great value! The lunch special — octopus/pork belly + cheese egg custard + fried rice — is ₩10,000 per person. Pickled radish, glass noodle salad, perilla leaves, and egg soup arrived first as side dishes. Sitting outside enjoying the park view really felt like a picnic, and it put me in such a good mood 😍 With the autumn breeze drifting by too~ I bet it'd have great vibes at night as well!!

Jjusam for three with beef brisket, ordered less spicy

Deliciously fire-grilled octopus-pork belly for three, plus beef brisket!! You could choose your spice level, and since we're not great with spicy food, we went mild. If you order it spicy, you'll probably get a much redder-looking version, haha.

Isn't the fried rice on the griddle so colorful and pretty?! ❣️ Topped generously with seaweed, perilla leaves, pickled radish, kimchi, flying fish roe, and more, it looked even more delicious.

Stretchy cheese egg custard

The hot cheese egg custard was amazing too. So much cheese that stretched endlessly, and such a generous portion!! It was a perfect match with the spicy octopus.

Frying up that fried rice!! Cooking rice outdoors was so much fun 😍

Such a mouthwatering spread of octopus-pork belly, cheese egg custard, and fried rice. A whole table full of delicious food.

The octopus was fresh, so it had a nice chewy texture and tasted great. The beef brisket was savory and tender too, which was so nice. The seasoning was spot on, and eating it with the fried rice was absolutely delicious 👍
