I enjoyed a lunch date with my husband on his weekday day off. After getting his hair done and browsing phones with my daughter, we suddenly realized we were starving.

That day I was especially craving pork cutlet, if you can believe it. So while looking for good spots nearby, I found P&Chick.

Turns out this place is also famous for Chicago pizza. My husband loves pizza and I wanted cutlet... so we joked that we'd found the perfect restaurant for the two of us, haha.
More than a pizza place: what's on the menu at P&Chick
P&Chick is a Sinjung-dong Western restaurant with several types of pizza including Chicago pizza, plus chicken, pork cutlet, pasta, and salads. Just hearing the name P&Chick, I assumed pizza and chicken were the main draws, but the menu turned out to be way more varied than I expected.

In the evenings you can even enjoy highballs and wine here, so it felt less like a simple pizza joint and more like a Western restaurant and pub combined.

We visited a bit past lunchtime, around 2pm, and there were still neighborhood locals eating. I'd assumed Chicago pizza would draw mostly younger crowds, but the diverse mix of ages was actually more striking. Good food really doesn't care about age, haha!
Chicago pizza with cheese packed all the way to the edge
At P&Chick we ordered the Chicago pizza for ₩24,000 and the pork loin cutlet for ₩10,500. The Chicago pizza lived up to its reputation just from the visuals alone! Lift a slice and the cheese stretches on and on — isn't that the whole fun of Chicago pizza?
What I especially loved was that the cheese was packed all the way to the edge of the crust. You get that savory, salty cheese flavor right down to the very last bite.

Eating all that cheese can get a little heavy after a while, but the pickles that come alongside cleanse your palate nicely. And you can dip the crust ends into the accompanying jam and sauce, so there was fun in enjoying one pizza pie in several different combinations.
The pork loin cutlet, 10,500 won, with pumpkin porridge soup
The pork loin cutlet I'd really been craving that day was ₩10,500. Thick meat with a crispy fried coating — exactly the classic Western-style cutlet you picture in your head. Ordering the pizza and cutlet together to share turned out to be a pretty great combo too.

The diced radish kimchi served with the cutlet cut right through the richness of the Chicago pizza too, so I kept reaching for it, haha. But while eating the cutlet, I ended up completely hooked on a dish I wasn't expecting.

It was the pumpkin porridge soup that came as a side! This was genuinely delicious!! Soft and sweet, the kind of thing you keep spooning up — it stuck in my memory just as much as the cutlet. If I could order it separately, I'd absolutely want to get it again next time.
I went looking for pork cutlet and left fully satisfied with the Chicago pizza and the side dishes too — a real Sinjung-dong pork cutlet find.
A restaurant by day, a pub by night in Sinjung-dong
The large screen inside the restaurant really caught my eye.

Normally it has a relaxed restaurant vibe for meals, but they said the atmosphere shifts in the evening into a pub-like setting perfect for a highball or glass of wine. Especially on World Cup or major sports game days, watching a match on that big screen with the sound up while eating pizza and chicken sounds like it would be a blast.

With such a wide menu selection, this seems like a great spot for gatherings of people with different tastes — family dinners, friend meetups, work dinners, and even the increasingly popular wedding invitation meetups. Pizza lovers, cutlet lovers, and anyone craving pasta or chicken can all pick their own favorite in one place.

P&Chick lets you enjoy two completely different moods, day and night. If you're looking for a Sinjung-dong pork cutlet spot, or a Sinjung-dong Western restaurant where you can enjoy everything from pizza to cutlet to pasta, give it a visit.
