Dongtan Central Park kimchi jjigae set with ramyeon sari: Yangpuni
In short
Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal is a Korean meat-and-stew restaurant in Bansong-dong, near Dongtan Central Park in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, cooking with Korean-grown kimchi and fresh Korean pork. On a weekend evening visit, the kimchi jjigae set (26,000 won) came with an egg roll side and a added portion of ramyeon noodles, and the broth stayed clean and refreshing rather than salty, which is rare for a barbecue restaurant's kimchi stew. Worth a trip for anyone in Dongtan looking for a pork kimchi jjigae that isn't over-salted.

I was looking for somewhere to eat near Dongtan Central Park and was craving kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew), so I searched around and found Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal. This place uses Korean-grown pork AND Korean-grown kimchi! Loved that ++ the restaurant was really clean too, big plus.

Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal (양푼이김치찌개&삼겹살) is a Korean meat restaurant in Bansong-dong, reachable from Dongtan Central Park. Hours are 11:00-24:00, with a break time from 15:00-16:00, and parking is available right in front of the store. They use Korean-grown kimchi and Korean fresh pork.
Dongtan has a lot of good restaurants, but if you're specifically after kimchi jjigae, I think this is the place to come.
We visited on a weekend evening, and surprisingly more people seemed to be eating stew dishes than samgyeopsal itself! The restaurant was so clean, which put me in a great mood.

Menu and prices: the 26,000-won kimchi jjigae set and which side you can swap in
Looking over the Yangpuni menu, it's mostly kimchi jjigae and samgyeopsal, plus dishes like pork belly kimchi jjim (braised kimchi with pork belly).
- Kimchi jjigae set ₩26,000 — kimchi jjigae + egg roll or bulgogi +₩1,000 or jeyuk bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork) +₩1,000
- Pork belly kimchi jjim set
- Duruchigi (stir-fried spicy pork) set

You can swap out the side dish for something else.

- Mul naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) + bulgogi set ₩11,000
- Bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) + bulgogi set ₩11,000
- Kimchi-mari guksu (noodles in cold kimchi broth) + bulgogi set ₩11,000
- Kimchi jjigae ₩10,000
- Pork belly kimchi jjim ₩11,000
- Duruchigi
- Samgyeopsal 200g ₩15,000

Sides run: egg roll ₩7,000, jeyuk bokkeum ₩8,000, soy sauce bulgogi ₩8,000. They're open late and sell a lot of alcohol too, so this could work well as a first or second stop for drinks. We came for dinner, so we went with the kimchi jjigae set.
For the side we skipped the jeyuk bokkeum and soy bulgogi options and stuck with the egg roll — sounded delicious haha!
What the kimchi jjigae set with egg roll is actually like
They brought out banchan (side dishes) of seasoned soybeans and dried radish strips, and first out was a massive, thick egg roll. Ordering it as a single dish costs ₩7,000, but with the set you get it ₩1,000 cheaper!!

That egg roll was huge and thick! Not too oily, nice and fluffy, so I ate it happily (the seasoning wasn't over-salted either, which was even better). It's really big — you could get full on the egg roll alone.

And then out came the Korean fresh pork kimchi jjigae!

First off, it was absolutely packed with tofu, and had plenty of kimchi and meat too.
The pork especially was really firm and in great condition. It felt like it might be pork shoulder or front leg meat, with a good amount of fat on it, so it'd be delicious no matter your preference!! There was a ton of meat — really generous.

It felt like I was just eating a mountain of meat, which I loved. The broth wasn't a rich MSG-heavy flavor but a clean one instead — total winner in my book. The kind of taste that pairs perfectly with soju.

They cut the cooked meat into big chunks and kept it simmering.

Simmer the kimchi jjigae down, mix seaweed flakes into your rice, then take a big spoonful with kimchi — so good!!! And then a big bite of the egg roll too.

Why Yangpuni's pork kimchi jjigae broth isn't salty
As I mentioned earlier, this kimchi jjigae wasn't overly salty (meat restaurant kimchi jjigaes tend to be way too salty) — it had a clean, refreshing pork-and-kimchi flavor that I really appreciated. I figured it must be down to the quality of the ingredients.

I filled up steadily on pork, but the broth was so good I didn't want to stop at just rice.

So I ordered a ramyeon sari (instant noodle add-in) too, but the portion was so big we only cooked half of it. (I used to prefer ramyeon over rice, but these days rice wins for me.)

Looks delicious, right! It went really well with the ramyeon noodles too. And even better, the broth didn't get too cloudy after adding them.

Is Yangpuni worth it for dine-in and delivery?
The staff were friendly, the restaurant was spotless even though it's a meat restaurant, and the food was delicious — a solid Korean restaurant find near Dongtan Central Park. The Korean-grown ingredients made it even better.

Delivery riders were coming in and out constantly too, so I'd recommend this place for both delivery and dine-in. If you're craving good kimchi jjigae in Dongtan, give it a try!!! Highly recommend.
