Uijeongbu café for Earl Grey Basque cheesecake: Forerest
In short
Forerest is a large café in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi, where guests can enjoy coffee and Basque cheesecake overlooking a dense forest. I arrived at opening on a weekend to explore its varied indoor rooms, outdoor seating, Earl Grey Basque cheesecake, and Americano. Forerest is a café I would happily revisit for a quiet forest break.

Here is my weekend visit to Forerest, today’s large café in Uijeongbu.
Getting to Forerest and parking

Forerest is a well-known large café in Uijeongbu. I had wanted to visit for ages, and finally had time on the weekend! After crossing the crosswalk on the main road, the entrance is immediately on the right; there is a sign, so just keep an eye out for it. If you are coming without a car, I hear you can take Bus 8 from Ganeung Station or Uijeongbu Station and get off at Ujeong Village.

Here is the parking information for Forerest in Uijeongbu. The site is so spacious that there is no need to worry about parking. It is said to have space for more than 100 cars.
A Uijeongbu café for resting beside the forest

When everyday life among buildings and the city gets exhausting, Forerest in Uijeongbu is a place where you can enjoy a brief, peaceful rest while looking out at the forest. The café interior is so pretty, and the forest view makes it feel healing right down to your heart. I also recommend it as a nice place to stop on a drive out of Seoul into the suburbs.
Forerest’s menu and Basque cheesecakes

First, here is the Forerest menu in Uijeongbu. It is also known as a great cake spot in Uijeongbu, because its signature menu is Basque cheesecake.
- Basque cheesecake
- Chocolate Basque cheesecake
- Black sesame Basque cheesecake
- Matcha Basque cheesecake
- Earl Grey Basque cheesecake
- Coffee, maesil (Korean plum), apple ade, lemonade, chocolate latte, Jeju green tea latte, lemongrass, apple hibiscus, and more
I highly recommend this place to cheesecake lovers.
Outdoor seating among dense trees

While waiting for my order, I looked around the exterior. Surrounded by dense trees, it truly felt like a café in the forest. Just like its name, “Forerest,” it is such a wonderful place.

The weather is wonderfully cool right now, so when it is nice like this, it would be perfect to enjoy delicious desserts and coffee outside.

There are plenty of tables and chairs outside too, so I recommend outdoor seats when the weather is cool.
Forest views through the windows and varied indoor spaces

Back inside Forerest. That does not mean the interior is lacking at all—it is a truly wonderful space too.

First, what I loved most was being able to rest while looking at the dense forest through the large windows.

The second thing I loved was that there are several rooms, each with different décor, so you can choose a space that suits your taste and relax. I arrived right at café opening, so I looked around every area, and every single one was lovely. There is group seating as well, so it seems like a good option for a family gathering or a group trip.

If you visit as soon as it opens at 11 a.m. on the weekend, you can enjoy delicious desserts at leisure in the peaceful forest, so I cautiously recommend arriving at opening too, haha.
What I ate at Forerest

I ordered the two most popular cheesecakes and an Americano.
Signature Basque cheesecake

Forerest Basque cheesecake Price: ₩7,500

I heard that this Basque cheesecake is made in-house, then refrigerated and aged for 16 hours before serving. As befits a signature item, it was wonderfully soft and sweet—a completely comforting flavor. It is also rich and dense, so I recommend it to anyone who likes dense cheesecake.
Earl Grey Basque cheesecake

Earl Grey Basque cheesecake Price: ₩8,000

I ordered it because I usually love Earl Grey, and it was even tastier than the original cheesecake. That may be because I love Earl Grey, but it was softer and sweeter—more to my taste. Besides Earl Grey, there are black sesame, chocolate, and matcha Basque cheesecakes, so you can order according to your preferences. For reference, the Basque cheesecakes are gluten-free, so you can enjoy them without feeling weighed down.
Iced Americano

Iced Americano Price: ₩5,500 Lastly, the iced Americano I enjoyed alongside everything else. The coffee was rich, nutty, and delicious. I hear there are also plenty of decaf and tea options for those sensitive to caffeine.
Recommended for a date in Uijeongbu
This was such a lovely forest café that I am very eager to return. It was nice to escape the stifling city, look at the trees in the forest, and enjoy delicious coffee and Basque cheesecake. It was a healing space, even if only for a little while, so I highly recommend it for a date in Uijeongbu.
