In short

Suksung Robada-gil is a sashimi restaurant in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi, serving assorted aged raw fish in an izakaya-style setting. While managing our diet, my girlfriend and I enjoyed herring, flounder belly, ankimo, and non-alcoholic beer. Verdict: a satisfying choice for a date or group meal with thick-cut aged sashimi.

My girlfriend and I took a little healing trip to the Uijeongbu area for the first time in a while. You have to eat before you can enjoy the scenery, right? We searched hard for dinner and found this place.

A Spacious Interior with Izakaya Vibes

The moment we opened the door, it had total izakaya vibes. The Japanese-style interior was decorated with lots of cute details, so it was fun just looking around, haha.

The restaurant was more spacious and comfortable than I expected, so it would be perfect for a group gathering or company dinner too. The tables are nicely spaced apart, making it an absolutely date-optimized atmosphere 🥹

Assorted Aged Sashimi Ordered by Kiosk

We easily ordered the assorted aged sashimi right from the kiosk at our table. There were seasonal options like fresh raw shrimp sashimi too, so I hesitated for a second, but we went with the signature menu!

After we ordered and waited a little, the banchan-style seafood sides started arriving so neatly. The nutty corn cheese, an essential at a sashimi restaurant, and chewy sea snails were packed with savory flavor 👍

While sampling the starter snacks, we excitedly showed off the couple rings we had gotten recently too, haha.

From Herring to Flounder Belly

Ta-da! Our awaited assorted aged sashimi arrived, and I gasped as soon as I saw it. Wow! It was thick-cut and glistening—just what you would expect from a great aged sashimi spot in Uijeongbu.

Since we have been watching our diet lately, we ordered non-alcoholic beer and made a cool little cheers.

I started with a piece of herring, my usual favorite, and popped it right into my mouth. Yum. It was full of rich oiliness and got nuttier as I chewed, with absolutely no fishiness—so movingㅠㅠ I could not believe I was getting to try such a prized fish here.

Next, I dipped a thick piece of flounder belly in soy sauce and took a bite. It was not greasy at all, and its delightfully chewy texture was truly excellent.

Flounder Belly and Ankimo Together

The ankimo (monkfish liver) here is incredible! Its characteristically rich, weighty flavor spread softly throughout my mouth.

Rich ankimo accompaniment

Put thick flounder belly on crispy gim (roasted seaweed), then add ankimo and just a little wasabi, and you have a seriously crazy-good combination. I totally recommend it 💕

Even Maki from the Review Event

Midway through our meal, we joined the review event and made sure to claim some delicious maki too. Topping the complimentary maki with a chewy piece of sashimi made it such a special treat.

Eating it this way gave us a generous spread that was every bit as good as a high-end Japanese restaurant. We cleaned every last bit off the plates, haha. Since my girlfriend and I are dieting, we kept things clean and simple with sashimi and light beer. We felt comfortably full and satisfied, without any heaviness.

If you want properly high-quality aged sashimi among Uijeongbu sashimi restaurants, definitely stop by. From the atmosphere to the freshness, this place gets everything right, so I strongly recommend it for a date or gathering. We loved both the food and the mood, and I am 100 percent planning to return on our next trip to Uijeongbu! If you are looking for delicious aged sashimi in Uijeongbu, enjoy something special at Suksung Robada-gil :))
