Why I got a C-curl perm on my frizzy long straight hair

Today, I went for a perm because I wanted a change after having only trims for ages on my increasingly frizzy hair :) My hair had originally been almost completely straight, but at some point it started puffing up as though it were naturally wavy, and it felt especially hard to keep tidy toward the endsㅜ

I don't know whether it is because of hormonal changes or because my hair has been badly damaged by coloring and heat over time, but even to me, it looked far too frizzy to simply leave natural.

Plan H Cheonan Cheongdang Branch (플랜에이치 천안청당점) is across from Hanaro Mart in Cheongdang-dong, so it was not difficult to find, and it is on the second floor of the building. You can use the building's underground parking lot; I was told that if it is full, you can use the public parking lot at Hanaro Mart right in front.

When I went in, everything was clean and neatly arranged, and it had a relaxed atmosphere when I visited, so I could settle in comfortably.

To show you what my hair was like before the perm, it was long overall and originally straight, but the ends had recently become very frizzy. The middle section had some wave to it too, so it was not quite straight.

I debated getting a straightening treatment or a C-curl perm, then decided on a C-curl, a style I had tried many times before :) I thought a very strongly waved style would be a hassle to manage day to day, and all I wanted was for the ends to fall naturally inward when I dried my hair.

Especially when I was going out for something important, it was surprisingly annoying to straighten my hair with a flat iron and then curl the ends, haha. I figured that with a perm, even a quick blow-dry would give it some shape, so I chose the C-curl.

First, they checked my hair condition and started with a cut. With long hair, it seems the ends need to be tidy for the curls to come out nicely too. After the cut, they applied perm solution suited to my hair condition and left it on long enough to work.

Here is the scary spaceship-like heat-perm machine, hahaha. Your neck really does hurt during this part, haha. Still, you have to endure it to look pretty~!

I sat patiently while having the drink and snacks they prepared, haha. Since I am pregnant, sitting for a long time is really tough—I thought my butt was going to give out, hahaha.

Next, I had my hair washed and returned to my seat for the heat-perm work in earnest. They worked on the sections where the C-curls would go, using heat to form the curls, and it took quite a while because my hair is long.

They checked my hair condition throughout, then finished with the neutralizing step to set the curls. A perm has several stages, so I was seated for a long time, but once I was in the chair, waiting was okay in its own way because I was curious about the result.

Once the shampoo and blow-dry were done, I saw the finished look and the curls had come out more naturally than I expected. Exactly the feeling I wanted!

The damage was a little disappointing, but if you are concerned about damage, I recommend getting a clinic treatment alongside it!! The rounded C-curls were only at the ends, so my hair looked much neater overall. The curls came out well ^^

Before, if I just dried my hair, the ends would stick out every which way or puff up, but now that the curl holds at the ends, it looks much cleaner. The curls are not too much, which I personally like.

It is definitely easier than straightening all my hair and then curling the ends with a flat iron every morning. When I dry it, I only need to hold it slightly in the direction of the curl, and the ends naturally curl in to finish the look.

I think I can gradually trim away the damaged parts, and the curls themselves came out nicely :) If you are worried about long straight hair puffing up, or tired of tidying the ends with a flat iron every day, a C-curl perm might be a good way to cut down a little on styling time.
