If you're looking for great handmade dumplings in Cheonan, I recommend Omi Omi Handmade Dumpling Hot Pot & Kudzu Naengmyeon Sono Bell Main Branch. I've already been a regular for over 3 years^^ Whenever I have reason to visit Byeongcheon, the Independence Hall of Korea, Sono Bell, or the Cheonan Arts Center, this is the Cheonan favorite I always stop by for a meal^^

The dumpling hot pot is delicious, but part of the fun here is enjoying the kudzu naengmyeon (cold noodles) that comes after the hot pot as one complete course. No matter how full I am, once I finish the cold noodles, I think, “I really was right to come here”^^

Omi Omi Handmade Dumpling Hot Pot: Basic Information

A Spacious, Pleasant Interior and Self-Service Bar

Spacious and pleasant restaurant interior

Omi Omi Handmade Dumpling Hot Pot has a spacious interior with high ceilings, so it feels very pleasant. The floor-to-ceiling windows bring in lots of light, creating a bright, open view with none of that cramped feeling. With tables for 4 and 8 people, it works for family meals, get-togethers, and group dining.

Self-service bar for side dishes and add-ons

At the self-service bar, you can freely top up the side dishes, and ramen and sujebi (hand-torn dough flakes) add-ons are unlimited^^

Coffee area to enjoy after the meal

There is bean coffee and vending-machine coffee by the entrance, so you can enjoy a little dessert after your meal. For us aunties and uncles, it feels a bit disappointing if there isn't vending-machine coffee after eating, right?^^ㅋ Is it just meㅡ,.ㅡ?”

A Regular's Tip: Pack Up the King Dumplings

Handmade king dumplings served according to the number of diners

When you order handmade dumpling hot pot, handmade king dumplings with meat and kimchi fillings come out according to the number of diners. Based on all my experience as a regular! If you want to add sujebi and ramen to the hot pot and still have mul-naengmyeon (cold noodles in broth) for dessert, you must not touch these handmade king dumplingsㅋ Especially ladies, haha.

At first, not knowing any better, I ate one meat and one kimchi dumpling, then couldn't touch the dumplings, shrimp, or meat in the hot pot. I didn't even get to taste the sujebi, ramen, or dessert mul-naengmyeon afterwardㅋ Only eat them if you're a big eater~ or a dumpling killer~ haha. Now that I've learned the trick, I pack up these handmade king dumplings that come as an appetizer^^ㅋ

Handmade king dumplings packed with filling

These handmade king dumplings, as big as my fist, are packed right through the center. The texture of the bracken fern and shiitake mushroom filling, plus its mild savory flavor, refuses comparison with ordinary dumplings, haha. Once you taste them, you can't forget this flavor and have no choice but to become a regular.

The handmade dumpling hot pot, chosen with the mild flavor, is generously loaded with shrimp, shabu beef, glass noodles, mushrooms, zucchini, and all kinds of vegetables^^

There is quite a lot of shabu beef too, plus vegetables and mushrooms hiding underneath!

There were bean sprouts and glass noodles at the bottom too!

Take out and mix the ingredients once, then let it boil again,

It is mild, yet the broth drawn from all the ingredients is wonderfully rich!

Hot pot broth enriched by the ingredients

The kimchi handmade king dumplings have a delicious kick, but when you put them into the hot pot, the heat mellows out, so even people who can't handle spice can enjoy them^^ At this point, the two aunties here pass on the sujebi and ramen add-ons^^ㅋ If we ate any more, I think we wouldn't even be able to stand up and would just be wriggling around, so the dumplings went into a takeaway box^^ㅋ

Don't Skip the Mul-naengmyeon After the Hot Pot

If you don't have the mul-naengmyeon dessert after the hot pot, you'll beat the ground with regretㅋ The older sister I ate with said she was too full and wouldn't have any, but once she did, automatic seal-clapping^^ㅋ

Noodles that capture the essence of one of Korea's three great kudzu naengmyeon styles!

The broth, boiled with beef brisket and beef bones, has such an addictive flavor that it makes you pick up the bowl and drink it in one go^^ I also saw lots of people at the restaurant who came just for the cold noodles^^
