6mm vs 4mm frozen pork belly compared, Taejang Sikdang Suwon Station
In short
Taejang Sikdang Suwon Station Branch is a frozen pork belly restaurant on the second floor of Suwon Rodeo Street. Stopping by as a second course after skewers with family, three of us ordered 2 servings of 6mm pork belly, 1 serving of 4mm, and Taejang bibim noodles to compare the thicknesses side by side. The 6mm cut was chewy and the 4mm was soft — if you like frozen pork belly (naengsam), either thickness works.

After grabbing dinner skewers with family near Suwon Station, we headed to a second course at Taejang Sikdang, a Suwon Station spot known for great frozen pork belly.

I've been to Suwon Station in the daytime, and now here again in the evening — I'm basically a regular ^^ This place is a frozen pork belly specialist on Suwon Rodeo Street. Honestly I used to think fresh pork belly was the best, but today at Taejang Sikdang I had my eyes opened to frozen pork belly.

Retro vibes, with 80s arcade games
The moment we walked in, music and arcade machines straight out of the 80s hit us with nostalgia : ) A happy night, drunk on retro vibes and drunk on pork belly!

Menu at Taejang Sikdang Suwon Station Branch: our order for three
There were three of us, so we ordered a total of 2 servings of 6mm frozen pork belly, 1 serving of 4mm, and 1 Taejang bibim noodles : )
✅Below is our first order, and we added more pork belly afterward✨

How thick is the 6mm pork belly, really?
First up, we ate the 6mm frozen pork belly! It's about a finger-width thick. You can really feel the chewiness — if you like it thick, go for the 6mm~ There's a bit of a price difference between the 4mm and 6mm.
- ✔️6mm pork belly: ₩14,000
- ✔️4mm pork belly: ₩11,000
This is the 6mm pork belly~ True to a Suwon Station frozen pork belly spot, they brought us whole peppercorns to sprinkle on top while grilling it up.

What comes with the side dishes?
There were sooo many side dishes to go with the pork belly that my hand kept reaching for them before the meat even finished grilling~

There's a beaten egg in the middle served with a sauce to dip in, and it was really nutty and delicious ^^ The bracken fern, kimchi, and bean sprouts grilled right on the pan were the best.

The pork belly was delicious with shredded green onions, delicious wrapped in lettuce — with so many things to pair it with, we ate it all sorts of ways and the meat disappeared fast, hahaha. We couldn't let it run out, so they kept grilling more.
Suwon Rodeo Street is famous as a food street~ it's a shame I only found out today that there's such a great frozen pork belly spot near Suwon Station, haha. Next time someone says they're coming to Suwon Station for pork belly, I want to bring them here again~!

4mm or 6mm — which should you order?
The ratio of meat to fat was great, and the pork belly was nutty and delicious! We finished all the 6mm and then grilled the 4mm too~ Definitely thinner, so it cooked much faster, and it felt softer rather than chewy!
Depending on your preference, the 4mm is delicious and the 6mm is delicious too~ if you just like frozen pork belly in general, I think either one is fine to order.
Taejang Bibim Noodles
The spicy-sweet Taejang bibim noodles (mixed cold noodles) also pair well with frozen pork belly. The chewy noodles and sauce go together so well — I'd recommend this as a side dish!

Parking tip for Taejang Sikdang
Parking at the building itself is difficult, so parking at AK Plaza seems like the best option. But if you visit late, even that can be hard to find, in which case a nearby private parking lot is convenient. On our visit today, we parked at Elysia parking lot : )
My spouse parked — since we ate for quite a while, it came out to ₩9,000, hahaha.
