Yeouido Korean BBQ restaurant with lamb ribs set: Yuk Lab Yeouido

I finally visited Yuk Lab, a Yeouido beef restaurant I've wanted to try for a while. Every seat is in a private room, so it's a great room restaurant for a date.

How to find Yuk Lab Yeouido from Yeouido Station, and where to park

Come out of Yeouido Station Exit 5 and head up to the 2nd floor of Yeouido Jonghap Sangga — it's at the far end. The shopping complex sits right in front of the subway station, so access is really convenient. I'd been here once before, and since other shops are clustered together too, it's great for running errands all in one place!

Parking is listed as unavailable, but you can park at Yeouido Jonghap Sangga and enter through the back door up to the 2nd floor.

Private rooms at every table: which gatherings suit Yuk Lab Yeouido?

Walking in, the first thing that struck me was how upscale it felt. Since every seat is in a private room, it's a really useful spot for special occasions, dates, family gatherings, work dinners, wedding invitation meetups, and more.

The staff were also super friendly, which made me feel well taken care of. You know how it ruins your mood when you go out feeling great but the staff are rude ㅠㅠ There's none of that here, so I thought it was a great place for a date.

Here's the menu. Just from the photos it looks like it'd be expensive, but it really isn't. The set menus are great value, and even ordering à la carte doesn't get too pricey.

What comes with the meal: 6 side dishes and doenjang stew

Here's the basic table setting. Since we had a reservation, everything was already set up perfectly when we arrived. It's a room restaurant, so my friend and I could talk comfortably just the two of us, and thanks to the AC, it wasn't hot at all even while grilling meat~~~

There were 6 side dishes and a variety of sauces, so every bite of meat felt fresh. The doenjang stew (fermented soybean paste stew) especially was nicely salty and packed with tofu — delicious. It'd be even better with a bowl of rice.

Inside the 67,000 won Yuk Lab Set: jingalbisal, tosisal and lamb ribs

The Yuk Lab Set, ₩67,000. I ordered the set with jingalbisal, tosisal, and lamb ribs, served with assorted vegetables and cheese. Just look at the color of that meat — insane, right? Totally mouth-watering visuals!

When grilling, the order is jingalbisal, then tosisal, then lamb ribs. Jingalbisal is the top-quality part of the beef short rib, known for its tender texture. Tosisal is a special cut from inside the short rib area, with a richer beefy flavor. The lamb ribs come from young lamb, so there's no gamey smell and the meat is soft. My friend and I both found the jingalbisal and lamb ribs suited our taste perfectly~~

Doesn't the meat look like it's glowing gold? Seriously gorgeous... that's how good it is!! There's a saying that beef is always right, and even with our mediocre grilling skills, we still got to enjoy it thoroughly.

Eating it with all the prepared sauces, wasabi, vegetables, and cheese made every bite richer and more fun. I'd already eaten before going that day so I couldn't eat much, but my friend loved it so much that I got to enjoy it vicariously through her, haha!!

Staff strip the bone from the lamb ribs at your table

And now, the lamb ribs! These were genuinely delicious. I could eat them even while already full. My friend said the same — the lamb ribs were amazing. You grill them until nicely crisped first, then call a staff member over and they'll remove the rib bone for you. After that, just dig in and enjoy!

Is Yuk Lab Yeouido worth it? Final verdict

I visited Yuk Lab, a great room restaurant for a date and a well-known Yeouido beef restaurant, and true to its reputation, the meat quality was excellent and the prices were satisfying. My friend and I especially loved the jingalbisal and lamb ribs ㅠㅠ On top of the great taste, it's a private room restaurant perfect for a date, and thanks to the friendly staff, it was a dinner we thoroughly enjoyed.
