Pet-friendly Korean snack restaurant at Yeouido IFC Mall: Hyeonseonine

Today I visited Hyeonseonine Premium, a great spot to hit while shopping in Yeouido at The Hyundai Seoul. You can enjoy tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), sundae (Korean blood sausage), and fried snacks all in one place, so anyone who loves Korean snack food will like this one. Let's get into the honest review!

How to find Hyeonseonine Premium inside IFC Mall

Hyeonseonine Premium, a must-visit near The Hyundai Seoul, is located in the basement of IFC Mall. It's connected underground to Yeouido Station, so it's easy to reach by public transit, and it's also a convenient stop after shopping at The Hyundai Seoul or IFC Mall.

The first thing that caught my eye walking in was how different the vibe was from a typical snack restaurant! The tables and space were styled like an indoor pojangmacha-style tent, giving off a casual street-snack feel ◡̈

And the indoor tent seating allows pets 🐶🤍 When you're out and about in Yeouido with your pet, it's not easy to find a restaurant that lets them in, ugh. So it was a relief to see we could visit together!

There was also a self-serve bar off to one side where you can grab what you need yourself. It was nice being able to get things without hesitating ◡̈

What's on the menu at Hyeonseonine Premium

Hyeonseonine Premium, a must-visit near The Hyundai Seoul, had a wider menu than I expected. There were set menus that let you enjoy several things at once, as well as à la carte options if you just want to pick your favorites 🫶🏻 If it's your first visit and you're not sure what to order, I'd recommend going with a set menu!

What comes in the Hyeonseon set, and how it tastes

I wanted to try a bit of everything, so I ordered the Hyeonseon set. It's normally made up of tteokbokki, sundae, mixed fried snacks, fish cake broth, and mini gimbap. But since I visited a little late, the mini gimbap was unfortunately sold out •• I got it swapped for rice balls instead!

Tteokbokki with a spice level you choose

The first thing that grabbed my attention was, of course, the red tteokbokki. The chewy rice cakes were well coated in sauce, and after one bite you naturally reach for the fried snacks — total front-of-school-snack-shop vibes 🫶🏻

Instead of the sauce standing out on its own, it blended nicely with the rice cakes so I kept reaching for more! And best of all, you can adjust the spice level, which I really liked.

The dish I dug into hardest was the mixed fried snacks! It was fun picking through the different types, and the outsides were crispy with a nice texture haha

It always feels a little sad when fried snacks are missing from a snack food order •• but with mixed fried snacks included in the set, the plate looked so much more generous 🥹

Mini gimbap sold out, rice balls instead

The Hyeonseon set normally comes with mini gimbap, but since I visited so late it was sold out •• I was looking forward to the mini gimbap so that was a bit disappointing, but I got rice balls instead!

The rice balls turned out to be a great match for the spicy tteokbokki. Right when the tteokbokki sauce started to feel a little strong, the rice balls made for easy, mellow bites in between, and the whole set felt even more filling and satisfying!

Fish cake broth from the self-serve bar

Halfway through the tteokbokki and fried snacks, you naturally start craving some broth •• and a sip of the fish cake broth right then completely refreshed the palate.

Sundae served with offal

The sundae at Hyeonseonine Premium, a must-visit near The Hyundai Seoul, doesn't come as just sundae on its own. It's served with various organ meats too, so if you like offal, definitely order this 🫶🏻

I dipped some in the tteokbokki sauce, alternated with the fried snacks •• and before I knew it, the plate was completely empty 🤤
