Hapjeong pizza restaurant for rosé pasta and 48-hour dough: Pizzeria O
In short
Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station is a wood-fired pizza and pasta restaurant in an alley off Yanghwa-ro 11-gil near Hapjeong Station in Mapo, Seoul. Two friends ordered wood-fired pizza, rosé pasta and an ade, and finished the 48-hour cold-fermented dough down to the crust ends, while the generous rosé sauce was creamy enough to make them want rice to mix in. If you want pizza and pasta in one meal in Hapjeong, Pizzeria O is worth another visit.

On a day I was meeting a friend in Hapjeong, I wanted proper pizza and pasta for once, and that's how I ended up at Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station. Spoiler: this is a place where you keep reaching for the crust more than the center of the pizza. 😂
Usually when you eat pizza, you end up leaving the crust behind, right? But here, the dough itself is so good you eat it all the way to the end. My friend and I had pizza and rosé pasta together and both left satisfied — here's my Hapjeong pizza review. :)

Where is Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station, and the mint-colored storefront
Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station is at 1F, 14-5 Yanghwa-ro 11-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul — walk into the alley from Hapjeong Station and the mint-colored exterior catches your eye right away. A big gold PIZZERIA'O Café sign made it even easier to spot from a distance.

The bright mint color paired with brown-striped awnings gave it a little bit of an Italian back-alley pizzeria vibe. 🍕

There was a menu board standing right by the entrance, so it was easy to check out the pizza and pasta options before even going in.

What especially caught my eye was a sign on the exterior noting the '1st place pizza at the 2019 World Pizza Championship in Rome,' which made me even more curious about the wood-fired pizza before stepping inside. 😋

Pizza by a Pizza World Cup champion chef?
Opening the menu, Pizzeria O's story was written out in some detail. Chef Lee Jin-hyung won first place at the 2019 Pizza World Cup in Rome, Italy.

What especially stood out was the dough! It said fermentation starts every morning in the kitchen, and the dough is cold-aged for over 48 hours to bring out flavor and texture. When I first read that, I thought, 'ah, that's why they emphasize the dough so much.' But once I actually tasted the pizza, I was immediately convinced. Haha.

Inside Pizzeria O: clean and casual
Inside, Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station was brighter and cleaner than I expected. White-toned patterned flooring, a chandelier and photos on the walls gave it a casual yet somehow atmospheric feel.

It wasn't too formal a restaurant vibe, so it was comfortable to eat casually with a friend, and I thought it could also work well for a date or a blind date in Hapjeong.

They also have alcohol like wine and Peroni, so it seemed like a good spot for a light evening drink alongside pizza. 🍷

Why is the wood-fired pizza dough this good?
The wood-fired pizza at Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station had a star-shaped puffed-up crust around the edge, piled generously with rocket (arugula), cherry tomatoes and ham in the center. The pizza I'd been waiting for finally arrived, and honestly, the visuals alone stole the show.

I ended up photographing it before anything else. But what stuck with me more than the toppings was the dough. I bit into the crust, browned and charred in spots from the wood oven, and it was chewy and nutty all at once. You know how people sometimes say 'I don't eat the crust!' and leave it behind? Not possible here. Haha.

Make sure you eat the crust to the very end. Even after finishing all the toppings, I kept tearing off pieces of the leftover crust because the dough itself was that good. That crust alone made me think, 'I want to come back for this wood-fired pizza again.'
Rosé pasta sauce so creamy you want rice with it
The rosé pasta we also ordered at Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station came with large shrimp, tomato and broccoli, plus a generous amount of rosé sauce.

I coated the noodles generously in the sauce and took a bite — creamy and smooth, so good. And I really loved how generous the sauce portion was. Even after finishing the noodles, there was still rosé sauce left on the plate, and I turned to my friend and said...
Can't they just give me a bowl of rice? I want to mix this into rice. 😂
That's how good the rosé sauce was.

If the pizza was chewy and nutty, the rosé pasta was soft and creamy — switching back and forth between the two made for a great combo.
A sip of ade between slices
Taking a sip of ade between bites of pizza and pasta felt refreshing and cleaned the palate nicely.

Especially after the creamy rosé sauce, a sip of the tangy ade made me want to reach for the pizza again. Haha. My friend and I just kept going: one bite of pizza, one bite of pasta, a sip of ade, on repeat. 😋

Verdict — would I eat pizza in Hapjeong with a friend again?

This visit to Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station with my friend, what stuck with me most was definitely the wood-fired pizza dough. There are plenty of pizzas with great toppings, but not many where you deliberately go hunting for the crust.
The chewy, nutty dough had us finishing every bit of the crust, and the rosé pasta made me want to mix rice into the leftover cream sauce. My friend and I kept saying 'the dough is so good,' 'the sauce is so good,' over and over. Haha.
If you have plans with a friend in Hapjeong or are looking for a place to have pizza and pasta together, this is worth a visit. I'll definitely order the wood-fired pizza again next time. 🍕💕
