Yeonnam-dong pizza restaurant for three after work: Sunny's Pizza

In short

Sunny's Pizza Market is a second-floor pizza restaurant on the Gyeongui Line Forest Trail in Yeonnam-dong, Seoul, where three office mates stopped in after work for an L-size half-and-half set. They ordered the Sunny's Combination and Smooth Potato as halves and added a cheese crust, and the thick dough and heavy toppings meant one large pizza filled all three of them. For a group of three, Sunny's Pizza Market is worth ordering large — only 5,000 won more than regular — and split half-and-half.

After work, my office mates and I were craving pizza so badly that we went looking for a good pizza place and found Sunny's Pizza Market, a Hongdae favorite! It's located right on the Gyeongui Line Forest Trail in Yeonnam-dong!

I love pizza in general, so we headed straight there for a good one! Doesn't the sign alone give off that 'this is a great pizza place' vibe??

Sunny's Pizza Market has been picked for both the Blue Ribbon and Red Ribbon guides multiple times, so I went in with even higher expectations!

What three people ordered at Sunny's Pizza Market: an L-size half-and-half with cheese crust

Since there were three of us going for pizza, we ordered the L-size half-and-half set! We wanted the Smooth Potato, and since we were at Sunny's, we felt we had to try their signature menu, so we ordered the Sunny's Combination too. And of course we added our favorite cheese crust!

Regular or large at Sunny's Pizza Market: which size for three?

The regular and large half-and-half pizzas only differ by ₩5,000, so if you want to eat a bit more generously, I'd recommend going large! If there are three of you visiting, large is a must. You can order right at the kiosk.

Besides a really wide variety of pizzas, they also have classic oven pasta, bacon cheddar oven pasta, buffalo wings, and other side dishes, but we felt the pizza alone would be plenty, so we skipped the extra sides!

At Sunny's Pizza Market, everything from pickles to the various sauces is self-serve. One thing I found really convenient was that all the sauces, like parmesan cheese and hot sauce, were individually packaged — it made eating so much cleaner.

First look at the large half-and-half: thick dough, loaded toppings

When the pizza came out, it was bigger than I expected! And really thick too. The toppings were piled on generously too, which I think is one of Sunny's Pizza Market's strengths — you can enjoy it even more that way. Can't you tell how thick it is just from the photo?!

Since we ordered half-and-half, we started with the Sunny's Combination side and then moved on to the Smooth Potato. Eating them in turns let us enjoy more variety of flavors without getting tired of one, so personally I'd really recommend ordering half-and-half!

Sunny's Combination with cheese crust

The Sunny's Combination truly lives up to its name, loaded with all kinds of toppings. The owner shared a tip that it tastes even better with the dipping sauce, so we dipped generously — and yeah, the owner clearly knows what's up. The combination between the combination pizza, pickles, and dipping sauce was so good that the pizza just kept disappearing!

Maybe because it was the large size, my stomach was already starting to feel full after just one slice, but adding the cheese crust made it even more delicious and filling. I personally love cheese crust so much that I always add it to pizza, and the basic cheese crust add-on is truly the way to go! Definitely add it — it's so good!

Smooth Potato pizza

The Smooth Potato is a must for any potato lover. The combination of sweet potato and tomato sauce is really great. The moist toppings fill you up fast... it was so good I wished my stomach were just a little bigger. The potato-and-cheese combo never fails, and I found it personally very satisfying. Can't you tell from the photo just how much cheese is on there?!

Single-serving pizzas and takeout at Sunny's Pizza Market

Watching all the delivery orders coming into the clean interior, I thought, oh, everyone really does know about this Blue Ribbon favorite... Another strong point of Sunny's Pizza Market is that they have single-serving pizza options. That means you and a friend could order different menus each, or it's great to take out on your way home. The single-serving menu is also easy on the wallet, which makes it even better.

If you're looking for a good pizza restaurant in Yeonnam-dong, I'd strongly recommend Sunny's Pizza Market.
