I'm someone who takes good food and good chats seriously, haha. The weather's been perfect lately, so my friends and I finally got together for a proper drinking session! We're all pretty picky eaters, so we went looking for somewhere with genuinely delicious anju (drinking snacks) and a nice vibe, and found a bar near Jeongja Station that's been getting hot lately. I searched for bars near Jeongja-dong on my phone and visited — 200% satisfied. This is Bacha Jeongja.
Where is Bacha Jeongja, and what are the terrace seats like?
Bacha Jeongja sits in the Jeongja Station dining alley, with outdoor terrace seating right out front. Soft, upscale lighting greeted us the moment we arrived. The breeze was so nice we wanted to sit outside anyway, and with the greenery right there, it was perfect. Haha.

The sandwich board out front showed a seafood steamer pot made with direct-from-source seafood, plus a really wide drinks lineup — cocktails, highballs, wine, soju, and beer. Each of us likes different drinks, so being able to order to our own taste got everyone excited before we even walked in. It's clear why this place gets talked about as a go-to spot near Jeongja-dong.

Inside Bacha Jeongja: modern bar mood and seating

Inside, Bacha Jeongja has a calm yet hip modern bar interior. The BGM from stylish speakers and the soft orange lighting really brought the mood to life.

It's pleasant and quiet, making it a great spot to chat with friends over drinks. I thought it would be perfect for a date, too. Every table has a tablet for ordering, so we could browse menu photos and order comfortably.
What comes in the signature Bacha Seafood Steam, and how does it taste?

The first thing we ordered was Bacha Jeongja's signature dish, the Bacha Seafood Steam. The moment the pot arrived, piled high and nearly overflowing with seafood, everyone grabbed their phones to take photos. 😲
Plump, fresh scallops, chunky squid, mussels, shrimp, plus fresh bok choy, bean sprouts, and fish cake skewers on skewers — the portion was seriously generous.
Being sourced directly, there was zero fishy taste — the seafood was plump, springy, and sweet. Which meant the broth was absolutely incredible. Haha.

Dipping the well-cooked scallops and squid into the special chogochujang sauce and wasabi soy sauce that came with the dish — absolute perfection! As time passed, the broth deepened with flavor from the seafood and vegetables, and one sip made me crave soju instantly. Truly the deep, rich flavor you'd expect from a signature anju at a bar near Jeongja-dong.
Sous-vide pork jowl with chive salad and the tableside torch searing

After enjoying the seafood, we wanted to try some meat too, so we ordered the Sous-vide Pork Jowl & Chive Salad! When the dish arrives, staff perform a little show, torching the surface of the meat with an open flame until it's golden brown. Every pass of the flame released a smoky aroma and sizzling sound that seriously got our mouths watering. 🔥
Maybe because it's cooked sous-vide, the pork jowl had that signature chewy-yet-tender texture that just melted in the mouth. The outside had real charred flavor from the torch, while the inside stayed juicy. Topped with the spicy-tangy chive salad and a touch of wasabi, the richness was cut perfectly, leaving only savory goodness. It paired really well with the Bacha Seafood Steam.
Is Bacha Jeongja a good spot for a friend gathering?

It had been a while since we all got together, and with every single dish being top quality and the atmosphere so nice, everyone had a great time.
From the seafood-packed Bacha Seafood Steam to the melt-in-your-mouth sous-vide pork jowl and chive salad — if you're looking for a bar in Jeongja-dong with both great food and great atmosphere, I'd recommend this place without hesitation.
At the end, the staff thoughtfully brought out some fresh fruit, which wrapped things up nicely. Haha.
