Kid-friendly bossam restaurant in Seongnam: ₩7,000 kids' set

In short

Bossam Ae Kalguksu Seongnam Sangdaewon Branch is a bossam (boiled pork wraps) and kalguksu (hand-cut noodle soup) restaurant on Geumsang-ro in Jungwon-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi. On a weekday visit at 7pm, three of us with a toddler ordered the small gabrisal bossam set for two (₩37,000) and the kids' bossam set (₩7,000), and the staff brought a high chair and toddler tableware, so eating with a child was easy. Every bossam order at Bossam Ae Kalguksu includes kalguksu and rice, making it good value for a family dinner out.

Looking for a good bossam spot in Seongnam for Tteurongi, who loves moist, juicy meat, I found this great-value place — here's my review of "Bossam Ae Kalguksu Seongnam Sangdaewon Branch"!

Parking and reservations at Bossam Ae Kalguksu Seongnam Sangdaewon Branch

We visited on a weekday around 7pm! Naver reservations were only active until 6pm, so I left a separate note and visited anyway. For parking, we used the nearby Sangdaewon 3 Public Parking Lot, and there's no separate parking fee provided!

Inside the restaurant: atmosphere and solo-dining seats

There were plenty of tables, kept super clean. Even on a weekday evening there were quite a few customers — friends, families, solo diners..!

View of neatly arranged tables in the dining hall

The window-side seats stood out — they looked perfect for solo dining. There's actually a "bossam set, special bossam set" on the menu that's great in both portion and price for eating alone.

The menu and what comes free with a bossam order

Here's the menu at this Seongnam bossam restaurant, "Bossam Ae Kalguksu Seongnam Sangdaewon Branch." There were set meals, bossam, and pancake (jeon) dishes, plus a variety of extra menu items. Ordering bossam comes with rice and kalguksu included as standard, so you get to eat a lot, variety and all!!! Certified great value!!!

Each table also had a guide on how to enjoy the bossam and kalguksu best, so I read through it carefully and ate that way — it was great.

Why Bossam Ae Kalguksu is easy with a toddler

This Seongnam bossam restaurant, "Bossam Ae Kalguksu Seongnam Sangdaewon Branch," was also a really good place to bring a child. There was a baby chair, and they gave us baby tableware too — so convenient! There were actually quite a few families with kids there as well.

Table set up with a child

The default kimchi that came out first after ordering was green onion kimchi and napa cabbage kimchi. Both paired really well with the bossam and kalguksu.

Tonight's dinner menu for the family has arrived~ let me introduce each dish one by one.

Small gabrisal bossam set for two, ₩37,000

Small gabrisal bossam set for two, ₩37,000. First, the set I ordered to share with Tteurong Daddy — the bossam set for two came with kalguksu for two and self-serve rice included. The bossam was made with gabrisal (pork shoulder blade), a naturally tender cut.

Bossam kimchi came alongside, and we ate it together with baek-kimchi (white kimchi) and radish kimchi — this combo, honestly, need I say more... it was so good. The meat itself was juicy and paired perfectly with the bossam kimchi 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The kalguksu included with the bossam set

The kalguksu that came with the set arrived too. The broth started boiling right after we ordered, so we were able to eat it alongside the bossam. I set the chili aside so Tteurongi could eat comfortably too.

It was packed with zucchini, carrots, and green onion, so we tossed it all in with the noodles and let it simmer together.

Quickly boiled up for Tteurongi, who was eager to eat!!! The kalguksu we shared together.

The broth had just the right savory depth, and paired nicely with the vegetables, so Tteurongi ate it up happily too (and of course so did Tteurong Daddy and Tteurong Mommy!)

A bowl of kalguksu served up

And the best pairing with kalguksu is good kimchi! Eating it with the napa cabbage kimchi among the side dishes worked really well together. There's also an extra noodle-refill menu, so adding more would be great too.

What's in the ₩7,000 kids' bossam set

Kids' bossam set, ₩7,000. And the one I ordered for Tteurongi! It comes with 50g of bossam, rice, and a kids' drink — I ordered it hoping to give her a little treat if she ate well today. Result: total success!

Spread of the kids' bossam set

The gabrisal cut tends to be a bit fattier, so it was a perfect match for Tteurongi, who loves juicy meat. Being sliced thin made it even better, I think.

The rice was at the self-serve bar, so we could easily go grab as much as we wanted. Tteurongi, Tteurong Daddy, and I all ate it with rice, and the rice itself was tasty too 👍🏻

Rice grabbed from the self-serve bar

Tteurongi went with the white rice + gabrisal bossam combo, and even finished two whole bowls of kalguksu 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Ate it all happily, and cleared the Pororo juice too.

What you'll find at the self-serve bar

Salted shrimp, ssamjang, garlic, kimchi, and more were at the self-serve bar, so we comfortably went back for extra helpings. The self-serve bar was kept clean too.

And aprons were there for easy use too — used them, done!

If you're looking for a good bossam restaurant in Seongnam! If you're looking for a Sangdaewon, Seongnam restaurant that's great to visit with kids! I highly. recommend. "Bossam Ae Kalguksu Seongnam Sangdaewon Branch"!!
