Inside Moshi Moshi Sushi Dongnae: bar seats and baby chairs
A packed favorite! An interior with thoughtful details 🪑

True to its reputation as a famous Myeongnyun Station sushi spot, when I walked into Moshi Moshi Sushi Dongnae the place was already packed with customers! The tables were full so there was a short wait, but I could feel the good-restaurant energy and happily waited it out. While waiting, I took a little look around.

There's a bar counter for solo diners, and baby chairs neatly set up on one side of the restaurant, so it looked like a great place for families with kids or solo diners alike to eat comfortably. That thoughtfulness earned it extra points from me.
Ordering Set 4 and the salad and soft tofu starters
An appetizer salad and soft tofu that wake up your appetite 🥗

Ordering was easy — just a few taps on the tableside kiosk. We ordered Set 4 (for 2–3 people) with 18 pieces of sushi, plus shrimp tempura and udon. One unique thing here is you can choose between "good" and "better" for a small price difference. Since I was visiting with my parents, I went with the "better" option. After sitting down and waiting a bit, they brought out the starter dishes!

The first thing that caught my eye was the vegetable salad and soft tofu — fresh just from the look of them.

The bright, zesty vegetable salad
Crisp cabbage and other vegetables topped with a generous, tangy-sweet dressing cleaned my palate before the meal and really got my appetite going!

Soft tofu with a deeply nutty flavor
Soft tofu topped with plenty of savory dressing — the moment I scooped a bit up with the sprouts and put it in my mouth, it melted away with incredible softness. The deep, nutty flavor of the dressing paired beautifully with the tofu, and I kept saying "Wow, this is so good!" over and over.
What comes in the 18-piece "better" sushi set?
A symphony unfolding in your mouth! 18-piece sushi ('better' option) 🍣

After a refreshing palate cleanse with the salad, the main event — 18 pieces of sushi — finally showed its gorgeous form! We had chosen the 'better' option from the menu, and honestly, my jaw dropped the moment I saw it. Every single piece was carefully hand-formed, and the composition was truly perfect.

Tuna and salmon sushi
The tuna, with its gorgeous, vivid marbling, melted the instant it hit my mouth, its fattiness spreading a savory richness throughout. The salmon was just as good, with excellent umami and clean flavor.
Eel, fresh-caught fish and shrimp
From the grilled eel sushi with its deep sweet-savory glaze and moist texture, to the chewy, fresh raw fish sushi, to the plump, sweet shrimp — every single piece felt like the star of the show.
Beef tartare and clam sushi
The beef tartare sushi, with its savory-sweet sauce and chewy texture, burst with more flavor the more I chewed, and the umami-packed clam sushi was chewy yet tender, delivering a mouthful of satisfaction. The fish slices were also thick and satisfying to bite into, and the balance between the rice temperature and wasabi was spot on, so I kept marveling all the way to the last bite.
The shrimp tempura and shiitake udon in the set
Textbook crispy-outside-juicy-inside shrimp tempura & deep-broth udon 🍤🍜
After the thrill of the sushi, the side dishes that came with the set were also better than expected.

Shrimp tempura with a perfect crunch
The golden, generously-battered tempura already looked mouthwatering, and the moment I bit in, a crisp crunch gave way to plump, springy shrimp. The batter wasn't greasy at all, just full of nutty flavor, so I enjoyed it to the very last piece.

Chewy noodles and deep broth: the shiitake udon
The udon was loaded with big chunks of shiitake mushroom, giving the broth a deep, rich umami. The noodles stayed chewy and springy without getting soggy, and with the warm yet refreshing broth, it was such a perfect finish that I practically wanted to drink it straight from the bowl.
