Seongsu Station burger restaurant, 48,700 won for two: bd Burger

I'm a blogger who chases down good restaurants all over the country 😎 On a recent day off I went on a Seongsu outing after a while. Seongsu has so many good restaurants that I always agonize over where to go, but this time I finally made it to bd Burger, a Seongsu Station burger spot that's been sitting on my list for ages! If you love handmade burgers, this place will make you very happy — here's my review of what we ate.

Where is bd Burger Seongsu, and what is it like at 3pm?

bd Burger Seongsu is on the 2nd floor of a building at 7 Seongsuiro 14-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, open daily from 11:30 to 21:00. It's not far from Seongsu Station's main street, so it also works well as a Seongsu date-course stop.

We came at that awkward time just after 3pm. Too late for lunch, too early for dinner — I figured we'd be the only ones there, but I was surprised to see the space fully packed, including the area you can't see in the photo. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor of the building, with a sign on the ground floor, so it wasn't hard to find.

At bd Burger Seongsu, you order and pay through a tablet installed at each table. I'd read a lot of reviews of Seongsu handmade burger spots before going, and it turns out there are quite a lot of signature menu items.

People generally seem to order the Grilled Shrimp Avocado or the Wasabi Shrimp most often. We went with the famous ones too 😎✨

Self-bar drinks: one refill per soda order

At bd Burger Seongsu, you can refill your drink once at the self-bar, but only if you ordered a soda. Just a heads-up that milkshakes can't be refilled 🙏

While our food was cooking after ordering, we grabbed side plates and cutlery from the self-bar.

How long is the wait? 10–15 minutes

bd Burger Seongsu also handles delivery, so the food didn't come out right away — we waited about 10 to 15 minutes for it to be cooked. Ugh... but look how generous it is...!?

What two people ordered at bd Burger, and the 48,700-won bill

The total for two of us at bd Burger Seongsu came to ₩48,700. We got two Grilled Shrimp Avocado sets, each with extra shrimp, and swapped out sides.

Grilled Shrimp Avocado burger: is the 2,000-won extra shrimp worth it?

bd Burger Seongsu's Grilled Shrimp Avocado is a burger with big, plump whole shrimp, unlike your typical shrimp burger. We added extra shrimp on top of that too haha 🦐 an absolutely violent visual 🦐

The smoky, char-grilled shrimp combined with the avocado, tomato, and onion had great texture, and adding the extra shrimp was really the right move. With every bite, the springy shrimp and the creamy avocado came together beautifully, giving the whole thing a nice balance of flavors. Personally I love both shrimp and avocado, so I really, really enjoyed this burger.

Butter garlic fries at bd Burger 🍟

The butter garlic fries side swap is an extra ₩2,000. It's famous as bd Burger Seongsu's signature side, so I didn't even hesitate to swap for it. It comes topped with a generous amount of garlicky sauce. The thick, buttery garlic sauce piled on top of the fries makes it noticeably richer than the plain fries. You keep reaching for one after another while eating your burger...!

Eggplant and whole button mushroom fritters: the best bite of the meal

The eggplant & mushroom side swap at bd Burger Seongsu is ₩2,000, and this is where I met the best fritter of my life. I'm not usually a big fan of fried food, but this — this was seriously, seriously good.

I expected the eggplant fritters, a signature item, to be good, and they lived up to expectations. I ordered the mushroom fritters without having read any reviews of them, and they were seriously, seriously good. It's a whole mushroom fried as is, and the mushroom flavor comes through completely — so nice...❤️ This is where I met my all-time favorite fritter, and honestly, I want to come back just for these mushroom and eggplant fritters more than for the burgers.

Back for burgers two hours after a pasta lunch

Who eats pasta for lunch and then goes for a handmade burger two hours later!? That's me!!!!!!!! I rarely eat burgers unless they're genuinely delicious, and this is a Seongsu Station burger spot I personally vouch for as truly amazing....👍👍👍 A real, proven restaurant with over 10,000 reviews!! The flavor makes the review count make sense, so I really hope you visit at least once. Especially — please, please try the mushroom fritters....👍
