Seoul Station gyukatsu restaurant sharing one brazier for two: Ichigyu
In short
Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch is a sirloin gyukatsu (breaded beef cutlet) restaurant on the first basement floor of the LG Seoul Station Building in Jung-gu, Seoul. One gyukatsu set and one steki (steak) set, both 19,500 won, came with a single mini square brazier for two diners, where French Isigny butter is melted for grilling — and the trick is to cut in a little butter every 3 or 4 pieces of meat instead of using it all at once, so every bite stays moist. Ichigyu is an easy recommendation for a Seoul Station lunch or a date.

Today I want to introduce a real gyukatsu gem that's perfect to stop by before catching a train or when you have an appointment nearby. It's Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch! It has a special twist totally different from other gyukatsu places, and my friend and I kept gasping the whole meal.
It's neat and tidy, so it's great as a solid Seoul Station lunch for office workers, and the cozy atmosphere makes it a place I'd really recommend for a Seoul Station date too. Let me walk you through everything from location to tips! 💛

Where is Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch, and what is the restaurant like?
Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch is located in the basement (B116) of the LG Seoul Station Building, close to Seoul Station Exit 10. It's near the subway station too, and once you enter the building and go down the escalator to B1, you can find it right away.
The sign has a cute cow illustration alongside the neatly written hiragana "Ichigyu (いちぎゅう)." The exterior is decorated with warm wood tones and orange lighting, giving off the feel of a calm, upscale restaurant tucked in a Japanese alley.

The interior was also very clean and tidy, which made a great first impression.
Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch hours, break time and parking
Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch is open daily 11:00–21:30, with a break time of 15:00–17:00. Check the hours and parking info in advance so you don't make a wasted trip!
- Hours: Daily 11:00–21:30 (last order 30 min–1 hr before close)
- Break time: 15:00–17:00 (be sure to check the last lunch order time!)
- Parking: Available in the basement parking lot of the LG Seoul Station Building, where the restaurant is located.
Paid parking is available in the building, but given the nature of Seoul Station, the lot can fill up on weekday lunches or peak times, so I'd recommend using public transit if possible (1–2 min walk from Exit 10 of Seoul Station, Line 1/4). If you drive, be sure to give your license plate to staff when paying!
How the Catch Table waitlist works at Ichigyu
The Seoul Station area has a lot of office workers and foot traffic, so a line can form quickly even just past 11:30, right? Luckily, Ichigyu has a Catch Table kiosk right in front of the store!
Register your number as soon as you arrive, and you can conveniently check your real-time place in line via KakaoTalk. If your timing for opening hours is uncertain, it's smart to check the Catch Table app first to see if remote queuing is available. It was so convenient being able to wait comfortably in the building lobby or a café instead of standing around.

Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch menu and what we ordered
Ichigyu Seoul Station's main menu is simply split into gyukatsu sets and steki (steak) sets, both using beef sirloin. The basic size is ₩19,500.
- Basic size: ₩19,500
- Double (jumbo) for a hearty portion of meat: ₩32,000
- Extra meat: ₩14,000 / extra butter: ₩1,000
There's also a solid lineup of single dishes like hamburg omurice, steki-don (steak rice bowl), Japanese curry, yakisoba Napolitan, and cold soba, which seemed great for sharing with a group. We happily ordered one signature gyukatsu set (basic) and one steki set (basic) to enjoy the clean, plain flavor of the meat itself.

Also, don't forget you can get fried shrimp with a receipt review!

One brazier for two and Isigny butter: Ichigyu's best idea
One feature of Ichigyu Seoul Station is that two people share a single mini square brazier! After a short wait, a neatly arranged wooden tray set came out.

Rice, miso soup, salad, sauce, and baek-kimchi (mild white kimchi) all came neatly set up.

The rice is served in this cute little container, so you just scoop it out with the paddle!
I noticed the brazier was bigger than at other places — turns out it's because two people grill meat together around the center at their own pace, which somehow made things feel more intimate and fun, and it was perfect for chatting on a date.

And now the highlight! Most gyukatsu places just roughly rub beef tallow on a heated plate or put the cutlet on a dry pan, right? But here, they give you premium French Isigny Sainte-Mère butter as standard! 🧈✨
Before grilling the meat, a knob of yellow butter is placed on the heated cast-iron pan and spread around evenly to melt. As soon as the butter hits the heat it sizzles, sending up a mellow, nutty buttery aroma — just the smell alone convinced me it would be delicious.

How the gyukatsu and the sirloin steki taste
Once the pan is coated in moist butter, the vivid pink-red meat goes in. Ichigyu's gyukatsu comes with a very thin, crispy breading and a moist, medium-rare interior. You grill it lightly on both sides — sizzle, sizzle — coating it fully in that buttery aroma, to your desired doneness.
The moment you bite into the well-cooked gyukatsu, the crispy outside gives way to a nutty butter aroma and rich beefy juices bursting in your mouth! I worried it might be greasy from being grilled in butter, but it wasn't heavy at all — it just elevated the flavor of the meat to a more luxurious level.

Piling on a good amount of sharp fresh wasabi, or dipping it in coarse salt or the sweet-savory house sauce, cuts through the richness so you never get tired of it. A bite of baek-kimchi cleanses your palate again.
The steki set was also excellent, showcasing the clean, plain flavor of the tender sirloin itself! If you want the crispy breading, go for the gyukatsu; if you want a big, clean cut of meat, I'd recommend the steki!
3 tips for getting the most out of Ichigyu
1. Don't use all the butter at once
If you melt all the butter at once, the pan can end up burning later. Cutting off a little butter and melting it every time you grill 3–4 pieces of meat lets you enjoy it moist and unburnt to the very last piece.
2. Ask for a fresh grill plate and solid fuel any time
If the plate gets dirty or the flame weakens as you eat, ask staff to swap it out. They kindly replace it right away so you can keep grilling comfortably to the end.
3. Make your own gyukatsu sushi
Try placing a piece of butter-soaked gyukatsu on top of fluffy white rice with a touch of fresh wasabi, and eat it in one bite. It's absolutely addictive.
Between the distinct flavor of grilling in premium Isigny butter and the convenient Catch Table waitlist system, I was thoroughly satisfied the whole meal. Being in the basement, it's not crowded, and the atmosphere is neat and calm — if you're looking for a hearty, delicious meal near Seoul Station, be sure to stop by this Seoul Station favorite, Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch! You won't regret it! 🥩✨
