Yeouido sushi restaurant with tuna tekkamaki and crab croquette: Ilpum
In short
Ilpum Yeouido Branch is a Japanese restaurant on the B1 floor of the Anwon Building in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, about 350m from Exit 3 of National Assembly Station. Two friends shared the aburidon (30,000 won), the premium kaisendon (37,000 won) and maguro tekkamaki (6,000 won), and the crab croquette served alongside was the most memorable bite. Ilpum is a good pick when you want to compare a seared rice bowl and a raw seafood rice bowl at the same table.

Where to eat kaisendon and sushi together near National Assembly Station
I found Ilpum Yeouido Branch while looking for what to eat in Yeouido! Turns out it's a famous spot Lee Young-ja recommended on the first episode of KBS's 〈Delivery is Here〉, alongside Kim Sook and Hwang Jung-min haha.

So this time my friend and I went all out with aburidon (grilled-top rice bowl) + premium kaisendon (seafood rice bowl) + maguro tekkamaki (tuna hand roll)!

We ordered: 🍣 Aburidon 🍣 Premium kaisendon 🍣 Maguro tekkamaki
Aburidon, 30,000 won: how strong was the seared flavour?

First up, my dish — aburidon! Aburi means lightly searing the surface of the ingredients for extra aroma, so it felt quite different from a kaisendon topped with only raw fish.

As soon as it arrived, that distinct seared seafood aroma came through, and it went surprisingly well with the rice. Recent reviews also mentioned catching that smoky scent from the aburidon even before the first bite.
If you like raw fish but a whole bowl of it feels like a lot, starting with aburidon might be the way to go haha.
Premium kaisendon, 37,000 won: what my friend ordered

My friend got the premium kaisendon for ₩37,000! It's a richer version of the basic kaisendon, letting you enjoy a variety of aged sashimi and seafood in one bowl. Public reviews also mention the variety of raw fish and the full course flow into chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), udon, and dessert as a plus.
It's arranged so neatly it looks like a flower, so of course you end up taking photos the second it arrives lol. If you're into Yeouido kaisendon, this seems like the closest thing to their signature dish.
Maguro tekkamaki, 6,000 won, and the crab croquette

My friend arrived late and added the maguro tekkamaki first! Tuna and rice rolled in seaweed, perfect for grabbing a piece between spoonfuls of the rice bowls.

Coming to Yeouido for sushi already felt great, but honestly, this croquette was the real deal — we each grabbed one! It tastes exactly like crab straight from Hokkaido, I swear. You really have to try it!
Is Ilpum Yeouido Branch worth a visit? Final verdict

Ilpum Yeouido Branch isn't a place that only does kaisendon — with sushi, eel rice bowls, and futomaki all on the menu, it's a great choice for going with someone whose taste differs from yours.
I went with the smoky aburidon while my friend had the premium kaisendon, and sharing the maguro tekkamaki on top meant nothing overlapped — really nice.
If you're searching for good sushi in Yeouido, good food near National Assembly Station, or craving a clean Yeouido kaisendon, keep this one in mind! ( •⌄• ू )✧
