In short
Haean Sutbul Galbi Gwangalli Main Branch is a pork rib (galbi) restaurant near Gwangalli Beach in Suyeong, Busan, a 5-minute walk from Geumnyeonsan Station Exit 1. The meal was the pork rib set for 2-3 people at 59,000 won (two servings of unseasoned ribs plus two of marinated ribs), with pork kimchi stew at 7,000 won and a 2,000 won potato noodle add-on; a handful of fresh green chili at the end made the broth thick and sharply spicy. Haean Sutbul Galbi is a 5-minute walk from Geumnyeonsan Station Exit 1, close to Gwangalli Beach, and the bright neon sign makes it easy to find even on your first visit!

The standing sign out front had photos and descriptions of the meat — apparently the pork ribs are domestic grade-1 chilled meat 🫢
How long is the wait, and what is the dining room like?

There were seats out front for waiting customers, and remote waitlisting was also possible through Catch Table.
The interior overall felt clean, with seating ranging from tables for two to group tables. There was also a room-style space in the very back that felt quieter than the main hall, which seemed nice for gatherings or family meals.
Haean Sutbul Galbi's menu and table setting

The menu was visible right from the entrance, and separate menus were prepared in English, Japanese, and Chinese as well as Korean.

Makes sense given it's Gwangalli — it felt like a lot of foreign tourists come through!
As soon as we sat down, they set the table, and the chopsticks came out soaking in hot water. It was nice to feel that they cared about hygiene down to small details like this ദ്ദി^._.^
The side dishes included wrap vegetables, pickles, shredded scallions, radish salad, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), and spicy mustard leaf pickle.

The dipping sauces were spicy sauce, soy sauce, and barley shrimp salt — the barley shrimp salt had a salty flavor with added umami from the shrimp, a low-key hit!

Ordering was easy through the table-side order screen.
What we ordered and what it cost
- Pork rib 2-3 person set ₩59,000 (2 servings raw ribs + 2 servings seasoned ribs)
- Pork kimchi stew ₩7,000
- + Potato noodle add-on ₩2,000

Before the meat arrived, I checked the table and found detailed instructions on how to eat the meat well and how to control the fire.

Next to the table there were also small plates, cups, and wet wipes already set out, so we could grab them without calling a staff member — pretty convenient.

Unseasoned ribs with barley shrimp salt and angelica leaf wraps
The raw ribs we ordered first came out — 2 servings included about two rib bones, with great color and a perfect ratio of fat to meat

Taking a bite of the nicely browned meat, the savory fat and juices burst out ✧

It felt almost like eating well-grilled samgyeopsal (pork belly)!

I also tried dipping it lightly in the barley shrimp salt — the savory meat combined with the salt's umami let the meat's natural flavor really come through.

Following the recommended combo, I wrapped it with angelica leaf + radish salad + spicy mustard leaf pickle — the pickle's spiciness cut through the meat's richness while the angelica added its distinct fragrant aroma, making it the tastiest combination I tried.

Marinated ribs and grilled tail ribs
After the raw ribs, we moved right on to the seasoned ribs (they switch the grill plate for these).

At first I thought the dark color might mean it'd be overpowering, but the seasoning turned out to be milder than expected.

We also grilled up the tail-bone ribs we got from the Naver receipt event alongside it — the sweet smell of the seasoning mixed with the charcoal aroma drifted up as we flipped the meat often to avoid burning it, and then

the finished look was the kind that makes you crave a bowl of white rice ✌🏻 Eating the seasoned ribs with radish salad was the best combo — the sweet-savory ribs paired with the tangy radish.
The tail-bone ribs grilled alongside had a nicely bouncy, chewy texture.

What happens when you add potato noodles to the pork kimchi stew?
Finally, we ordered the kimchi stew — I'd heard that adding potato noodles to stews is a good combo, so I gave it a try 🫢

The chewy noodles went surprisingly well with the spicy broth — a different vibe from instant ramen noodles, and it had its own appeal.

At the end, I added some fresh chili and let it simmer a bit more — the broth thickened slightly and got even spicier, which was a great way to finish the meal 😋
Is Haean Sutbul Galbi worth it? Final verdict
Overall, the quality was good for the price, and the spacious, comfortable dining room made for an easy meal. If you're looking for a good pork rib restaurant in Gwangalli, this place is worth a visit ◡̎
