Yongsan ramen restaurant with naengmyeon-like cold broth: Menya Seoul
In short
Menya Seoul Yongsan I'Park Mall Branch is a ramen restaurant on the 7th floor Living Park of Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul. Over a weekday lunch alone at the bar seats, the writer ordered the new summer giant prawn cold ramen with karaage, and the chilled broth tasted mild yet savory like Pyeongyang naengmyeon broth — never harsh, so the bowl was finished down to the last spoonful. For a day that calls for one light bowl of ramen on your own, Menya Seoul's cold ramen was the answer.

Superchart member checking in! Today's solo meal was Menya Seoul at Yongsan I'Park Mall. Even as someone loyal to pyeongyang naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles), I was so impressed I drained the whole bowl... this is a legit good restaurant!!!
Weekday lunchtime, hungry but nothing really jumping out at me. My place is near Yongsan I'Park Mall so, as usual, I rode my bike over.

How to find Menya Seoul on the 7th floor of Yongsan I'Park Mall
Menya Seoul is on the 7th floor Living Park of Yongsan I'Park Mall. There's also a Menya Seoul Yongsan main branch, and this I'Park Mall branch too?

The 7th floor is Living Park so there's a separate directory sign. But I'm the type who prefers taking the escalator and looking around rather than the elevator.

I usually love hunting down good ramen restaurants, and I'd heard several times that Menya Seoul's ramen was delicious, so I'd been meaning to go. Too rich a broth isn't really my thing — I like it light — and this place was exactly that.

Anyway, from the central corridor it looks like this. If you see the red sign, just head that way haha!!

What are the bar seats at Menya Seoul like for eating alone?
Since it was a weekday afternoon, Menya Seoul Yongsan I'Park Mall Branch wasn't crowded at all — perfect atmosphere for solo dining. Plenty of open seats too. ><
You can eat at a table, but I sat at the bar seats. When I'm alone, bar seating just feels most comfortable.

They said the dongpo pork chashu ramen is the signature dish — my friend O-yes would've loved that! But me, I'm a broth person, so cold ramen it is. Though the whole pork belly mazesoba looked really good too (why do I only have one stomach??? I wanted to order several but the portions were too much to finish them all haha).

At the counter, the owners were busy cooking ramen, but the turnover was fast so it didn't seem like you'd wait long.
Menya Seoul menu: mild, spicy and mala broths plus summer cold ramen
Menya Seoul's menu is split into dongpo pork and jambon lines, and there were so many broth types — mild, spicy, even mala.

So, deciding what to order...

But what caught my eye was right here

The summer new menu, giant prawn cold ramen! Cold broth with fried shrimp — I thought, this has to be it for the tail end of summer.

Seeing the finished sample on display, it passed the visual test instantly. And well, of course naengmyeon (cold noodles) is good even in winter. Decided on the cold ramen right away.

They're also running a 1st anniversary coupon event. Ordered, waited a little, and then it finally arrived!
How does the giant prawn cold ramen taste? Mild, savory, naengmyeon-like
Menya Seoul's giant prawn cold ramen has a fried shrimp laid diagonally across the bowl, plus a soft-boiled egg, chashu, and lemon — the visual alone already felt like a win. The broth was, how do I put it!! Cold and clean, but there's this weird addictive quality that keeps you sipping.

You know capellini pasta noodles? Chewy, thin, delicious. The noodles here have that kind of texture — springy and great at soaking up the broth, so every single bite was satisfying.

The karaage that came with it was also amazing (ate it to hit my protein for the day since I'm dieting). Paired with zero-sugar Coke, it was even better. This was basically digestive medicine.

I usually love that mild-yet-savory style of pyeongyang naengmyeon broth, and this cold ramen broth was exactly that feeling. Mild, but you keep reaching for more of that savoriness. (Not intense at all, but genuinely delicious.) Trust me and try this — it's seriously good.

Why the cold broth got finished to the last drop
Came to my senses and the bowl was completely empty. Hahahahaha I drained even the broth, all of it.

I'm a member, so I came in without much expectation, but it was genuinely delicious. So good I didn't even notice I'd emptied the bowl.

Returned my tray and headed out! Wondering what the next new menu item will be.
Is Menya Seoul's cold ramen worth it? Final verdict
On a weekday lunch when you want to relax and finish a bowl of ramen solo, I strongly recommend Menya Seoul's cold ramen at Yongsan I'Park Mall. I'm planning to go again soon..!!
