Yeongdeungpo Seoul Korean BBQ for grilled intestines: Chodaechang
In short
Chodaechang is a grilled beef intestine restaurant by Exit 11 of Dangsan Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. After a one-day class, I had Assorted Grill B, doenjang sulbap, and kimchi noodle soup for 70,000 won while the staff grilled everything perfectly. Chodaechang is a great pick for a clean, flavorful grilled intestine meal near Dangsan Station.

After a one-day class near Dangsan Station, I was sooo hungry and wondering what to eat when I heard there was a Blue Ribbon–recognized grilled intestine spot, so I stopped by to wrap up the day!

Chodaechang by Dangsan Station Exit 11
It’s right in front of Dangsan Station Exit 11! The parking lot is behind the restaurant, so you’ll need to turn off the main road into the side street!

Parking is free on weekdays after 6 p.m. if there’s a space available, and on weekends after 4 p.m. if there’s a space! If you contact the restaurant before arriving, they can help check whether parking is available. If the building lot is full, use the public parking lot under the Dangsan Station overpass.

It’s on the second floor of the building with Olive Young!

[Hours] Daily 17:00–23:00 (last order 22:00) *Open year-round!

Chodaechang Dangsan Station offers free corkage! One bottle is free as standard, and if you make a Naver reservation, one more bottle is free too—two free corkage bottles in total!! Plus, visit after making a Naver reservation between 5 and 6 p.m. and you get 10% off~

The restaurant is spacious and neat! What I really loved was that meat restaurants—especially gopchang places—are normally full of greasy smells, right? But Chodaechang barely had any food smell, so it felt super clean and nice!
Assorted Grill B and side orders
- Assorted Grill B ₩57,000
- Doenjang sulbap ₩7,000
- Kimchi noodle soup ₩6,000
- Total ₩70,000

The basic sides were dressed lettuce, pickles, and salad~ Dip the meat in the pickles and sauce and I could eat endlessly~

They also give you kimchi noodle soup through their receipt-review event~ You absolutely have to join this one~!!

Chodaechang was listed in the Blue Ribbon Survey 2024, and they say it’s a specialist in grilled beef intestines with 11 years of know-how from a famous gopchang spot people line up for! Time to stop thinking grilled intestines have to be expensive! They say they lowered prices substantially through their own livestock-distribution expertise~ Major, major praise from me.. haha

It comes with daechang (beef large intestine), makchang (beef abomasum), and teukyang (beef tripe), for 510g in total!

Grilled beef intestines cooked from start to finish
Another thing I really loved about Chodaechang was that the staff grilled everything from beginning to end!! Since the seasoning can burn easily, it’s especially tricky to cook, but they grilled it beautifully and kept it juicy~

The table-mounted smoke extractor seriously sucked up all the smoke, so my clothes didn’t pick up much smell either. Loved that!!

It was seriously sooo nutty and savory~~ And maybe because someone else grilled the meat for me, it tasted even better, haha. The daechang was full of smoky char-grilled flavor and richness, while the crisp, chewy teukyang was outstanding~ With every bite of the golden-grilled daechang, rich juices and savory flavor burst out, and the teukyang had its distinctive crunchy texture with absolutely no odor. So impressiveㅠㅠㅠ

Spicy doenjang sulbap and kimchi noodle soup
This doenjang sulbap (rice in soybean-paste soup) completely cuts through the richness of the assorted grill.. It was spicier than I expected, and suddenly I wanted more meat~~~ Reset complete. I could totally start all over again.

This kimchi noodle soup was a real little gem too. It was genuinely sweet and tangy, exactly to my taste~~! I’d been craving grilled beef intestines for the first time in a while, searched around, and ended up here. Everything was so delicious, and everyone was kind, so it made for such a pleasant dinner~!! For anyone wanting clean, high-quality grilled beef intestines with absolutely no odor, I recommend Chodaechang Dangsan Station, a great meat restaurant near Dangsan Station~~
