Late-night Sindang Korean BBQ and kkakdugi fried rice: Jinseong Hanwoo
In short
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch is a Hanwoo beef gopchang (small intestine) and makchang (large intestine) grill house on Dasan-ro near Sindang Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. Even on a late-night visit Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang was full, so the table came after two parties ahead in line, and the order was 2 servings of gopchang, 1 serving of makchang and kkakdugi onion fried rice (9,000 won). The gopchang had plenty of fat on the outside, so daechang lovers will enjoy it, and the staff grilled every piece while watching a timer.

Hi, this is Edin haha. Today I'm writing up my review of Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang branch, which I visited recently 😊

How long is the late-night wait at Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang?
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang branch is a place where you need to plan for a wait even late at night. Honestly, we went pretty late this time! Even though it was very late, the place was completely full!! There was even a waitlist..🫢 So we waited behind about two parties before getting in haha

Menu and house-made kimchi at Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang in Sindang
The menu is really simple like this haha. Gopchang is the signature dish 😍

It said the kimchi is made in-house!! I was so looking forward to trying it,,haha

This sauce that cut through the richness of the gopchang!! It was so good too 🩷

As expected! The kimchi was delicious hahaha. They also sell the scallion kimchi separately — this place could basically be a kimchi restaurant too><

Steamed egg comes included by default!

How much to order for two: 2 servings of gopchang plus 1 of makchang
We ordered 2 servings of gopchang and 1 serving of makchang 😊

The gopchang was seriously nutty and delicious! 🤤 You could really taste that distinctive gopchang nuttiness, and it got better the more you chewed, so I kept reaching for more. The portion isn't huge, so I'd recommend two people order 3 servings..!! I started out mixing in the side dishes but ended up just picking up gopchang by itself over and over because the nutty flavor was so good on its own lol

The rice cakes were tasty too, along with the kimchi and potatoes.. the owner clearly knows what's good 👍 don't you think haha

The kimchi balanced out the rich, fatty flavor of the gopchang perfectly, so eating them together was so much better. I thought of it as just a regular side dish at first, but the kimchi was so good I kept picking it up. One bite of gopchang, one bite of kimchi — it cut the richness completely so you could keep eating!

Staff grill every piece of gopchang on a timer
It was so convenient having the staff grill everything for us haha. There's a timer, and when it goes off, a staff member comes running
With 2 servings gopchang and 1 serving makchang, gopchang was definitely the bigger portion
But interestingly, the gopchang here has a bit of a gopchang-plus-daechang feel?! There was a lot of fatty part on the outside haha. I think people who like daechang would like this too

Is the 9,000-won kkakdugi onion fried rice worth it?
We were already full after all the gopchang, but we couldn't skip the fried rice..

We also ordered the kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi) onion fried rice! haha. And after gopchang, you can never just stop there. Fried rice is basically mandatory ❤️❤️

Fried rice with kkakdugi and onion was the perfect way to finish off the gopchang. The distinctive tangy, savory flavor of kkakdugi added to the fried rice, and with the onion on top, the nutty flavor came through too — really good.

There was a surprising amount of onion and kkakdugi in it!! It's pricier than typical fried rice (9,000 won), so I was curious, but with that much onion, kkakdugi and rice, I got it right away..💟 I was already fairly full from the gopchang, but somehow once the fried rice arrived, I kept eating anyway — magic ㅠㅠ I nearly burst, but of course as a Korean you have to finish with fried rice at the end haha

What was disappointing at Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang
One thing that was a little disappointing was that the fried rice took some time to come out! I wanted to eat it right after finishing the gopchang, but the wait was longer than expected, which was a bit of a letdown. Still, it was worth the wait in the end and I was satisfied overall! haha

They even had clothing deodorizer spray 👍👍 Gopchang smell really clings to your clothes, you know..ㅎ.ㅎ

Who should visit this Sindang gopchang restaurant
If you're looking for good gopchang in Sindang, or want to have gopchang with a shot of soju even late at night, Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang branch is worth a visit 😊😊 It's popular enough to have a wait even late at night, so go in expecting some wait time. Recommended for anyone looking for the best gopchang spot in Sindang! ❤️
