Smoked pork belly and beef kkakdugi bibimbap near Namyeong Station
In short
Byeoljin Hwarogui is a charcoal grill Korean BBQ restaurant near Namyeong Station and Sookmyung Women's University Station in Yongsan, Seoul. Two servings of smoked pork belly came with bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) and beef kkakdugi bibimbap, and the thick-cut pork belly grilled over real charcoal had great smoky flavor and juiciness, with the side dishes standing out even more. The spacious, upscale hall with partitions and an 8-seat room makes it well suited for company dinners and family gatherings too.

An upscale, spacious Korean BBQ spot
I went to a seriously good Korean BBQ place near Namyeong Station!!!

Instead of the usual chaotic BBQ-restaurant vibe, it feels upscale from the wide entrance onward. Walked in feeling excited.
The atmosphere is upscale yet cozy and full of character — I was so surprised at how spacious and comfortable it is.
Neatly arranged wooden tables with generous spacing between them. It was a late weekday afternoon, so it was great for photos >.<
There are partitions that give a private feel, for those who prefer more personal gatherings. Perfect for company dinners, dates, family gatherings, or wedding invitation meetups.

There's also a room that fits up to 8! The place is so huge I couldn't fit it all into photos.

It's a Korean BBQ restaurant but it really is upscale 😳 There's even a bar table.
They even provide covers so your clothes don't pick up that grilled-meat smell — so thoughtful.
The restroom inside was also super clean. Perfect score, perfect score.

Smoked barbecue / smoked pork belly / crazy-good side dishes

The lunch special price is genuinely great value. Spoiler: not just the meat but the side dishes here are seriously delicious, so definitely try the lunch special.

Wow, when I got to the table there was a welcome letter with my name on it — so touched.

The basic side dish spread
The basic banchan arrived neatly laid out right away. One fresh wasabi, salt, and special sauce per person (so good). Olives and garlic pickles that go perfectly with meat, pickled onions, stir-fried kimchi, myeongi namul (wild garlic leaves). Having olives is a nice unusual touch!
And everyone gets their own bowl of dongchimi (watery radish kimchi), which was so good my friend finished two bowls.

A salad also comes out. You know a pre-meal salad is a must! Good for the blood sugar and all that.

First ordered some jinro soju and Cass beer. Wet the throat a bit and start. What I picked was:
- Smoked pork belly, 2 servings
- Bibim naengmyeon
- Beef kkakdugi bibimbap

Smoked pork belly — ₩16,900
Wow, look at that gorgeous color. Smoked pork belly / ₩16,900. Thick-cut pork belly. Plated with colorful fresh garnish — shishito peppers, king oyster mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, eggplant.

Feels like being at a fancy barbecue joint. Straight onto the charcoal-heated grill it goes!

One pair of tongs per person haha. The kind you only see in mukbang videos — genuinely so convenient that I ordered my own set once I got home. They grip both the side dishes and meat so well.

The meat grills to a beautiful golden brown. There's a subtle smoky aroma woven through it. Thick, pretty cuts of meat, juices bursting out. First time trying smoked pork belly — had no idea it could be this good.

That special sauce is legitimately delicious, and the moment you dip a perfectly crisp-outside-tender-inside piece of pork belly into it, the rich juices and deep smoky aroma explode in your mouth — I couldn't help but gasp. So, so good.

Bibim naengmyeon (₩9,000) and beef kkakdugi bibimbap
The true side dishes of meat. Bibim naengmyeon/₩9,000, beef kkakdugi bibimbap. Why are the side dishes here this good?! I'm not exaggerating, it's insanely delicious. Wrap the meat with the spicy-tangy, chewy noodles, then take a bite of beef kkakdugi bibimbap on the hot sizzling plate — crunchy kkakdugi (radish kimchi) and savory beef packed in — pure bliss.

Hands too busy from how delicious it was.

Even scraped up the crispy rice bits stuck to the bottom of the pan. So, so good... such a happy meal.
Byeoljin Hwarogui final verdict
An upscale, spacious Korean BBQ spot. Subtle smoky aroma, thick juicy smoked pork belly, a tidy basic banchan spread. The meat itself is excellent, and side dishes like bibim naengmyeon and beef kkakdugi bibimbap are genuinely amazing at Byeoljin Hwarogui. Highly, highly recommend ㅜㅜ!! Definitely going back.
