Ingye-dong beef ribs pre-grilled over straw and charcoal

I visited a great beef-rib spot on Na Hye-seok Street in Ingye-dong, where the ribs are pre-grilled over straw and charcoal for deep flavor ~~!! This is Golden Cheese Lotte Department Store Myeongdong Branch, which carefully selects ribs from the especially delicious sixth to eighth sections of the rib rack ❤️

Location and weekday lunch special

It is next to the urban farm on Na Hye-seok Street in Ingye-dong.

On weekdays from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM, you can also have the straw-fire set meal for lunch~~ A full spread for ₩14,000, haha ✨

The restaurant is really spacious and pleasant, so I think it would be great for gatherings or group company dinners too. There were lots of menu options, but I came for the marinated udaegalbi (premium beef rib meat) 😊

Marinated udaegalbi and banchan

The basic banchan (side dishes) arrive on a tray at first. The self-service bar has ssam vegetables, ssamjang, garlic, and kimchi; just ask the staff for the other side dishes, haha.

They put bracken fern and kimchi on the grill with the meat.

This is two servings of marinated udaegalbi. Since it is pre-grilled over straw and charcoal before it comes out, the staff grill it themselves for about five minutes 😊

They showed off some fancy grilling skills ~~!! They cut all the meat into easy-to-eat pieces, which was so convenient.

They flipped it at the perfect moment, haha. It looked so delicious that I was practically drooling 🤤 They moved the cooked meat to one side, and it stayed warm from the heat of the grill, which was nice.

They recommended eating the first piece plain, so I had it without dipping it in anything~~!! This is how I learned what happiness is ✨

For the second piece, they recommended dipping it in sauce. I worried that marinated meat might be salty, but after one bite, I kept eating it just as the staff member said, haha. Following their recommended order really was so delicious 🤤

I also tried it with wasabi and with the two pestos: angelica pesto and neungi mushroom pesto. They are unusual pestos, but they did not stand out in a strange way at all—they went so well with the beef ribs ✨

Kimchi jjigae and buckwheat bibim-naengmyeon

The kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) was packed with ingredients and wonderfully salty and spicy. I do not really like mild stews.... but I enjoyed Taebaek's kimchi stew sooo much ❤️

The buckwheat bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) comes with broth on the side, so you can eat it to your taste. The wonderfully sweet-and-tangy sauce and chewy noodles..... without question, it is the best bibim-naengmyeon I have had lately 👍

Tacos made with guacamole tortillas

These guacamole tortillas, regularly priced at ₩9,000, are available through the review event.

The portions are so good: around 10 tortillas, plus generous guacamole, tomatoes, sour cream, and onions. I am not kidding—what do you mean this is only ₩9,000...... Honestly, I think I would eat it even if it cost more!!!!!

Save a few pieces of udaegalbi, chop them up, then order the guacamole tortillas and make tacos—honestly, they are good enough to put a taco specialty shop to shame.
