Samsong Station Korean BBQ with pasta side dish and spicy myeoljeot
In short
Neopttakjip Samsong Branch is a pork BBQ restaurant in Samsong-dong, Goyang, a 3-minute walk from Exit 3 of Samsong Station and 8 minutes from Starfield Goyang. On this return visit the order was the mixed grill and sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew), and the pasta among the free side dishes plus the spicy myeoljeot (fermented anchovy dipping sauce) stood out. None of the cuts had any off-smell, and samgyeopsal (pork belly) and kkodeulsal (chewy pork jowl) were the best of the lot.

Hi, it's둘째! After looking around Starfield today, I went hunting for a place to eat and ended up at Neopttakjip Samsong Branch for meat. This is a return visit for me — the samgyeopsal (pork belly) and kkodeulsal (pork jowl) were so good! Neopttakjip is a chain with tons of branches, so I'd say visit whichever one is closest to you! I was browsing around Starfield Goyang and made my way over to the Samsong branch!!!
Where is Neopttakjip Samsong Branch? 8 minutes on foot from Starfield Goyang

Neopttakjip Samsong Branch is about a 3-minute walk from Exit 3 of Samsong Station, so accessibility was great. It's right in front of the station, and it took about 8 minutes on foot from Starfield. The evening weather was cool, so it was really nice to stroll over slowly.
Inside Neopttakjip Samsong Branch: private rooms and the self-serve bar

Here's the inside of the restaurant! It had a bit of an outdoor-tent feel, and I liked it!!! The place was also cool inside, not hot at all, so it was perfect for eating BBQ. There's a private room too, so if you're visiting with family or a larger group, you can eat privately in there. You can grab extra side dishes from the self-serve bar yourself, which is convenient!!! It was a weekend evening so there were a lot of people, but the place is spacious so there was no wait.
Neopttakjip Samsong Branch menu and prices

Here's the menu! The weekday lunch special menu looked really solid and good. If there were a Neopttakjip near my office I think I'd visit often, ugh. There's a wide variety of cuts too, so you can order to your taste, and if you want to try a bunch of different cuts, the mixed grill is a great option!!! The side menu was varied too — everything from jjigae to ramyeon to makguksu (buckwheat noodles).

They're also running a Naver receipt review event, so keep that in mind~~~
The side dishes at Neopttakjip, pasta included

Here are the side dishes they set out first~~ Neopttakjip is unusual in that pasta comes out as a side dish too, and it's surprisingly a hidden gem~~ It was tasty! There were quail eggs in there too, so it helped cover the protein bases nicely. The kimchi and shredded scallions were tasty too. The kimchi was even better grilled together with the meat.

Mixed grill and sundubu jjigae: kkodeulsal with spicy myeoljeot
We wanted to try a variety of cuts, so we ordered the mixed grill with sundubu jjigae! They bring the meat out first and you grill it yourself! I'm not great at grilling meat, but it was easy here so it worked out fine!
We ate the mixed grill, and personally, the kkodeulsal and samgyeopsal I had last time were still the best! Everything overall was tasty, but the kkodeulsal with its great texture and the samgyeopsal I already loved were the standouts!!! On the whole, the meat had no odor and no tough parts, which I really appreciated. They seem to use only good-quality meat. The staff were also very kind.
Neopttakjip's myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) was especially nice because it's spicy. It kept the meat from feeling greasy. The kkodeulsal really lived up to its name with that springy, chewy texture, and it was delicious dipped in myeoljeot or eaten with shredded scallions. The other cuts were good too! The samgyeopsal was the flavor you know and expect!!! Chewy, savory, so tasty.
The sundubu jjigae we ordered as a side was genuinely spicy and hot, and it paired so well with the meat. I was torn between that and doenjang jjigae, but if you like spicy, I recommend the sundubu jjigae!
Is Neopttakjip Samsong Branch worth a return visit?
Neopttakjip Samsong Branch has friendly staff and a nice atmosphere!!! But above all, the meat is just so good. No odor, and you get to try a variety of cuts, which I loved. I especially recommend the samgyeopsal and kkodeulsal!!!! I'm normally a samgyeopsal person, but the kkodeulsal was surprisingly amazing too. The friend I went with said the kkodeulsal was delicious too. If you're looking for a great samgyeopsal spot in Samsong, I recommend Neopttakjip Samsong Branch!!!!
