Where is Sarugak20, the basement curry restaurant in Jeonpo-dong?
Sarugak20 (사루각20) is located on the basement floor of a building. When we went in, the owner kindly greeted us saying 'watch your step on the stairs' 😊

Walking down the stairs, I already had the feeling — oh, this is going to be pretty. It's the kind of curry restaurant in Jeonpo-dong with real atmosphere. Sarugak20 gives you that sense of happiness just from being in the space.

Here's the menu board at Sarugak20. For reference, they also do shipping and takeout. They even sell cream soda and limoneade 🥳

Once inside, a lovely space opened up. The wood-toned interior gave off a warm, cozy vibe. They even had small props for sale 😁

Floor seating at Sarugak20 that works with kids
The owner's design sense really shows at Sarugak20. We sat at one of the seated-floor tables. We went with kids, and the table seating was such a hit haha.

There's a hand-washing area inside the restaurant, so we could use it comfortably while waiting for the food. Hand wash and hand cream were both available to use, whatever your preference.

Kids washed their hands nice and clean haha, ready for curry!

The spoons and forks were adorable too 🍴💕

What we ordered: brisket cream curry and special curry
- Brisket cream curry / ₩11,000
- Special curry / ₩12,000
- Sausage / ₩2,000
- Tonkatsu / ₩4,000

Our order didn't take long to come out. Sarugak20's curries looked really pretty too.

How the brisket cream curry tastes: creamy, nutty, mildly spicy
The cream curry has a smooth, savory flavor — it's Sarugak's signature curry. Even the color of the curry felt soft. It was a bit spicy for the kids, but they drank water and kept eating, saying it was delicious 😆
The portion was huge, but since it wasn't salty, I kept scooping up more. I usually eat very little rice in a day (I make up for it with other food), but today I ate a ton just from the curry! Hahaha.
Mixing the brisket in with the curry and giving it a good stir made for a complete, satisfying meal 🧡

Special curry with poached egg, sausage and cheese
The special curry is a deep, rich curry topped with poached egg, sausage, and cheese 🍛

Getting a poached egg is such a treat — popping it over the rice haha. I make curry at home sometimes, but you can't make curry like this at home, right? Hahaha. It really needs to simmer for a long time, and curry this delicious and full of umami is something you have to eat at Sarugak20. I heard it's the second branch of Moru Sikdang, and it brought back memories of eating at the original Moru Sikdang with my sister a while back.

The harmony between the softness of the poached egg and the rich flavor of the curry was really great.

Is the ₩4,000 tonkatsu side worth it with kids?
Tonkatsu is a side menu, and we ordered it for the kids to share. There's a cabbage salad laid underneath!

Dipping it into the curry basically turns it into tonkatsu curry haha. We mixed the cabbage into the curry too! There was a light dressing drizzled on it that was tasty.
The space looked so pretty while we were eating that I even took some video mid-meal. There are seats for solo diners too, and right after I filmed, a solo customer walked in — looked like a regular. Solo curry dining is so nice 💕
If you're looking for a lunch spot in Jeonpo-dong, Busan, how about a bowl of curry at Sarugak20? 💓
