With its European-vintage interior, house-made sauces for every dish, and bread baked fresh daily, Odd Bird Oliver is the work of Oliver, an eccentric who pours quirky dedication into everything on the menu.

A European vintage-style Western restaurant in Jeonpo, Busan
The exterior is full of European vintage charm, like stumbling onto a little brunch café down a European side street. The warm green vertical-striped awning fits the cozy mood perfectly.

Can you bring a dog or a child to Odd Bird Oliver?
Odd Bird Oliver is a pet-friendly zone — they mentioned there might occasionally be a resident dog friend hanging around inside. Dogs are welcome in the restaurant! And of course it's a welcome-kids zone too, with cute baby chairs and tableware on hand.

Instead of matching tables throughout, each seat has a different table, so you get a range of moods in one space. There's a table seating up to six, great for a wedding-invitation gathering or a group meetup; roomy two-person tables for a relaxed solo brunch; and round tables for 3–4 people.
Odd Bird Oliver menu and set deals

The menu is split into Salad / Brunch / Pasta / Mains / Sides. Everything looked good, so after much deliberation I ordered the pistachio jambon pasta and, for a main, the chipotle roast chicken.

If you can't decide, try the set menus curated by Oliver himself. Order the signature set and you get two pieces of focaccia free; order the brunch set for two and a small soup comes free!

The menu also had a little story printed on it. Reading through it slowly, I got more and more excited for the quirky dishes made with such quirky care. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Baking bread every day, making sauces from scratch — that's genuinely impressive. Not an easy thing to keep up.

Odd Bird Oliver has an open kitchen, so you can watch that quirky dedication in action! I kept sneaking glances, and everyone was so focused on the food that I couldn't even tell which one was Oliver.
Pistachio jambon paccheri pasta in a thick cream sauce
After a bit of chatting with my friend and looking around the restaurant, the pistachio jambon pasta arrived first.

They explained the dish while serving it — the sauce on the pistachio jambon pasta was really something. The nutty pistachio and rich butter-based cream sauce had a faint hint of lemon(?) plus the crunch of nuts, and somehow that combination kept it from feeling heavy even by the last bite — I kept going back for more,,

Oh, and the pasta shape was so unusual I looked it up — it's called 'paccheri,' originating from the Campania region of Italy. It's a wide, hollow, tube-shaped noodle, and the thick sauce soaked into both the inside and outside of it, which was great! It's chewier and springier than pasta shapes I usually eat, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking to try something new.
+Oh, and the jambon was made in-house too! That explains why it had such a mild, tender flavor instead of being too salty.
Chipotle roast chicken: crisp outside, juicy inside
Following the pistachio jambon pasta came the crispy-outside, juicy-inside chipotle roast chicken.

It's a steak made from chicken thigh, so it wasn't dry at all — perfectly tender! And it really was the textbook definition of crispy-outside, juicy-inside: crisp and golden on the outside, moist and soft within. So good!!!

The chipotle sauce had just a hint of spice and plenty of character — if you can handle kimchi, this won't feel spicy at all as a Korean eater. One bite of the buttery pasta, one bite of the chicken steak — the pairing is amazing! Oh, and the mashed potato that came with it is the real kick,, seriously so smooth,, I kept reaching for more and more,, it's exactly the kind of main that fills you up with protein.

Odd Bird Oliver. A name that fits Oliver's eccentric dedication perfectly — I want to come back and try other dishes, and I'd recommend it as a pasta spot to bring your dog, or as a place in Jeonpo for a wedding-invitation gathering or even a blind date.
