Whenever I searched for a good pasta place in Eojin-dong, Sejong, the same places kept coming up, so honestly, at first I wondered if this one would be much the same. Even the phrase “French dining” felt a little intimidating. But Le Garden Bleu (르 가든 블루), a Western restaurant in Sejong, was different! I visited after hearing that it makes every sauce in-house without food additives—and it was so delicious that I came back!

It was also the place where I had to wait when I came for weekday lunch. The nearby Sejong Government Complex means the restaurant fills up at lunchtime with government-complex staff, couples on dates, and tables of women getting together! Definitely deserves its reputation as a great pasta place in Eojin-dong, Sejong 🩷

I had never properly seen the parking-lot entrance explained in other reviews, so I wrote down exactly how I got lost below. If it is your first visit, this part alone could save you five minutes!

Weekday lunch wait: what is dinner date night like?
To give you the conclusion first, dinner is much more relaxed than lunch. There was a wait when I came for weekday lunch last time. It was not because the restaurant was small—there were simply a lot of people!!

So this time, I made a reservation for Friday at 6 PM!

Once we got there, 6 PM felt spacious enough that there was plenty of room between tables. Enough space that conversations from the next table did not carry over! Dinner is definitely better for eating slowly while talking. Still, since it was Friday, tables began filling up after 7 PM. I recommend reserving ahead.
Why we reserved Le Garden Bleu for our 300th day of marriage
While looking for a date spot for our 300th day of marriage, we focused less on somewhere extravagant and more on somewhere we would both enjoy eating! When choosing a pasta restaurant for an anniversary, there is always a catch: it may be pretty but the portions are disappointing, or the food may be good but the atmosphere is hectic. Finding somewhere that has both is harder than you would think.
Le Garden Bleu had a spacious dining room and fairly low lighting, which made it comfortable to talk. And each time a plate arrived, the first thing we said was, “It’s pretty!” 🍽️
Garden flat iron steak and potato gnocchi: price for two
What we ordered and the price (for two)

₩45,500 for two. For French dining, I thought the price was quite reasonable!

We asked for the flat iron steak medium-well. It can turn tough if cooked incorrectly, but when I pressed the cut surface, juices rose up and I thought the temperature was spot-on!

Seeing the accompanying vegetables fill the plate like a garden, I immediately understood why the dish had “garden” in its name. On my previous visit, I had pizza and seafood pasta served in a ttukbaegi (Korean earthenware pot), but this time the gnocchi was exactly what I was drawn to!

But this potato gnocchi was the real surprise! It melted softly, with the gentle aroma of potato coming through—it was really delicious!

In the Chodang corn ragù sauce, the corn’s sweetness works beautifully with the ragù. It does not finish with ragù’s usual saltiness; instead, a subtle sweetness lingers at the end. I do not remember trying this combination anywhere else, which made it feel even more special and memorable!

If you are looking for a Western restaurant without additives
Le Garden Bleu, a great restaurant in Eojin-dong, Sejong, makes all its sauces from scratch and uses no food additives at all! Honestly, creating flavor artificially is easy. Add a spoonful of an umami ingredient and anyone will say it tastes good. The hard part is making it delicious without that, and personally, I think that is real skill—and Le Garden Bleu is exactly that kind of place!!

I could tell after the meal. Usually after eating Western food, you keep reaching for water, right? There was none of that thirst, and my stomach did not feel uncomfortable the next day either! So whenever I want to properly enjoy French dining in Sejong, Le Garden Bleu is always my first pick.
Le Garden Bleu parking and entrance tips
Le Garden Bleu provides five hours of free parking! Near the Sejong Government Complex, five hours is plenty of time for a meal and even a walk afterward!
But after parking in the basement of KT&G Sejong Tower A and heading up to the restaurant, I got lost because I could not find the entrance 😅 The building is large and has other shops on the first floor, so depending on which direction you come up from underground, the entrance is not visible. Use the Nike store as your landmark and you will not get lost. Parking is registered when you pay after the meal, so do not forget to register before leaving!
