Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip Gangnam Station Branch is a BBQ restaurant on Gangnam-daero 98-gil, near the Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station dining alley. Access: 4.5/5.

Being so close to the Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station dining alley made it super easy to get to by public transit. It's just a quick walk from the subway exit, so honestly it's a great spot to set as a meeting point.

Group seating and semi-outdoor tables for a Gangnam work dinner

Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip Gangnam Station Branch is huge, so it's well suited to group dinners, and there's also a separated semi-outdoor table area on one side. Interior: 4/5.

Dimly lit interior of the BBQ restaurant's dining hall
Separated table seating area inside the BBQ restaurant

It was really clean for a BBQ place. Since it's a newly opened restaurant, there was definitely no grease buildup, and the dining hall lighting was a bit dim, which I personally liked even more. Each table felt independent, so it was easy to eat comfortably without disturbance from neighboring seats.

The sheer size of the place is another standout feature. Lots of seats and plenty of space, so it seems perfect for group dinners.

Semi-outdoor style separated group table

On one side there were tables with a semi-outdoor feel — on a nice day, sitting there for a group dinner would be great. It's separated as its own space, so 👍👍

Staff-grilled meat and the side dishes that come with it

At Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip Gangnam Station Branch we ordered pork neck, pork skin, and oddol-ppyeo (cartilage), and the staff grilled everything for us. Taste and service: 4/5.

Staff grilling pork neck on the tabletop grill

We ordered pork neck, pork skin, and cartilage. The staff grilled it all, so we genuinely just sat there and ate. There were plenty of staff on the floor, so whenever we called them over, they responded super quickly, and everyone was friendly across the board — it made for a great mood.

Generous spread of side dishes including acorn jelly and seasoned squid

+ I can't not mention the side dishes. We ate them while joking, isn't the owner losing money on this? Acorn jelly, seasoned squid (seriously so much squid), salted pollock roe, salted oysters (the portion was huge, too), mushroom pancake, assorted lettuce wraps — honestly if a plain rice restaurant served all that for ₩10,000 it would already be called a steal.

A bowl of the bibim guksu side dish

+ We ordered the bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles) side for ₩10,000, and it turned out to be about 3 servings. It was genuinely delicious, but way too much for two people... could they please make a single-serving version for ₩5,000?

Thickly grilled pork neck slices

Pork neck

Pork neck: served thick, packed with juices, and none of that dry texture — super tender. Since the staff grilled it themselves, it came out cooked just right, which made it even better.

Thick pork skin cooking on the grill

Pork skin

Pork skin: the thickest pork skin I've ever seen in my life. Strongly recommended if you're a pork skin fan. The friend I went with kept telling me to make sure I write about how good the pork skin was on the blog, haha.

Oddol-ppyeo cartilage tossed in soy-based seasoning

Seasoned oddol-ppyeo (pork cartilage)

Cartilage: it wasn't just tough bone to chew through — it was coated in a sweet, salty soy-based sauce. The seasoning soaked in well and it had a satisfying crunch — great as an anju (drinking snack).

For two people, ordering 2 servings of a main meat plus 1 serving of either pork skin or cartilage seems like the perfect amount and combination.

Prices and what diners say

Price: 4/5.

Menu board with pricing information

Considering it's right in the heart of Gangnam Station's main commercial district and includes staff grilling the meat for you, the pricing seems pretty reasonable. Especially the thick pork skin and the cartilage, which were very satisfying value as side dishes.

Reputation: 4/5. It seems like it hasn't been open long so people don't know about it yet. Worth visiting! Strongly recommend it if you want Korean BBQ in Gangnam. Once word gets out it'll probably get busy fast, so go early.

Final verdict on Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip

This place seems well suited to anyone in Gangnam who hates smoky, cramped BBQ restaurants. The lighting is calm, the seating feels nicely separated, and the staff grill everything, so all you have to do is sit back and eat — very satisfying overall.

Ah, I want to eat there again already.
