House steak 220g with potato purée at Oseuseu, a Pocheon date

In short

Oseuseu is a steak and pasta restaurant on Wangbang-ro 118beon-gil in Pocheon, Gyeonggi. We ordered the house steak 220g and white pollock roe pasta together — the steak was tender with no gamey taste and paired well with the potato purée underneath. With its warm, aesthetic interior, it's a great spot for a quiet date dinner.

I was out exploring Pocheon and stumbled onto a Western-style restaurant with great atmosphere and even better food. My friend who lives in Pocheon has been coming back here for the Nth time — this is Oseuseu (오스스) in Pocheon!

As soon as I walked in, the whole interior was decorated with such a nice, emotional vibe — there were so many spots to take photos, and the atmosphere was really good. If you're looking for a Pocheon date spot to enjoy steak or pasta together, this could be a solid choice. Let's get into the review!

We visited Oseuseu during this Pocheon trip! You could feel the aesthetic vibe from the exterior alone. We went at an awkward time for lunch, but I was surprised how many people were there. FYI, there's a parking space right next to the restaurant~

Even before the food arrived, I really liked the mood of Oseuseu. Overall it felt warm and emotional, so photos turned out pretty no matter where you pointed the camera. It felt like every table and prop had been thought through for the interior, and the quiet, cozy atmosphere made it feel like a great date spot.

If you want to eat somewhere with a bit of atmosphere while traveling in Pocheon, this seems like a good option! Personally, taste matters, but so does the atmosphere when it's a date — and on that front, this was a Pocheon date spot I really liked.

Oseuseu had a variety of Western dishes centered on steak and pasta. What we ordered was

  • House steak 220g
  • White pollock roe pasta ₩17,000
  • Baguette ₩2,000

The house steak was also part of the signature set, but we picked it separately since it's what we wanted to eat! There were several kinds of pasta and we went back and forth, but ended up choosing the white pollock roe pasta since it looked a bit unique!

Our order came out at the same time! We could enjoy both dishes together right away, and the food didn't take long, which I liked even more. I was worried the portions would be small, but they were seriously generous — I was surprised..

A forkful of the steak

The house steak I genuinely enjoyed! As soon as the meat came out, the look of it was so appetizing. When I actually tried it, there was zero gamey taste, and the meat was incredibly tender — I was surprised!! Not chewy at all, it just melted in my mouth — honestly one of my favorite dishes ㅠㅠ

Grilled vegetables served with the steak
Potato purée layered under the steak

Grilled vegetables came alongside the steak, and there was soft potato purée underneath — it was surprisingly light yet creamy, so good... Once I paired the meat with the purée instead of eating the steak alone, the richness of the meat and the smooth texture matched so well, it was really delicious.

White pollock roe pasta

Since it's pasta with pollock roe, I worried it might have a fishy taste, but there was no fishiness at all when I tried it. Best of all, the roe was packed in more than I expected, so every bite of noodles had that popping texture — the best..!

There was also seafood including squid mixed in, so there was a nice chewy texture too — overall it was light yet savory and easy to enjoy. If you like pollock roe, this is worth trying! Ordering it alongside the steak made for a really satisfying combo ㅎㅅㅎ

Adding a baguette too

The baguette we added to our order
Baguette dipped in leftover sauce

There was leftover sauce and potato purée, so we added a baguette for ₩2,000. Having bread alongside the steak and pasta made the meal even more filling, and it was great for mopping up the leftover sauce. The price wasn't a burden either, so if you order steak or pasta, I'd recommend adding it as a side!!!

How was it as a Pocheon date restaurant?

Personally, Oseuseu in Pocheon satisfied both on atmosphere and taste! The emotional interior made it great for photos, and the quiet dining atmosphere suited people looking for a Pocheon date spot well. In particular, the house steak was so tender that I keep thinking about it, and the white pollock roe pasta was also delicious with plenty of roe and seafood ㅠㅠ

If you're looking for a Western restaurant with good atmosphere, or a steak and pasta spot in Pocheon, I think Oseuseu is worth a visit :)
