Fig pistachio baguette on the terrace, Hannam-dong: Dance Dance Dance

In short

Dance Dance Dance Hannam is a wellness sandwich shop in Hannam-dong, Yongsan, Seoul, open from 8 a.m. daily. The new autumn fig pistachio baguette, eaten solo on the small terrace out front, paired the nuttiness of pistachio tofu cream cheese with the fig's mild sweetness. Fig season is short, so this one is worth stopping for before it disappears.

Fig pistachio baguette at Dance Dance Dance Hannam

Dance Dance Dance Hannam is a sandwich spot in Hannam-dong that I love. On nice days like these, there's something quietly great about picking up a good sandwich and taking your time with it.

This time I went back to the branch I visit constantly for lunch in Hannam-dong. This isn't a one- or two-time thing — I've lost count of how many visits it's been. I pay for it myself and eat here regularly anyway, so when I heard about the new menu I had to try it.

Dance Dance Dance Hannam sells more than sandwiches — baguettes, ciabatta, and other breads too, which makes it a great spot when you just want something light.

It opens at 8 a.m., so it works well for breakfast before work or an early brunch.

New for autumn: the fig pistachio baguette

The reason I came this time was the new autumn menu item — the fig pistachio baguette! It launched with the start of fig season, and since figs only stick around for such a short window, a lot of people seem to wait for this season every year.

This one's a bit different from before: pistachio tofu cream cheese, fresh fig, and fig jam all together in a baguette. I'm already a fan of the pistachio-fig combo, so I was curious how it would turn out — and honestly, the two worked together better than I expected.

A wellness sandwich brand

Dance Dance Dance isn't just a place that sells sandwiches — it's positioned as a wellness sandwich brand chasing food that's both healthy and delicious.

The bread, one of the most important parts of any sandwich, goes through a lot of testing — a crisp, tasty baguette and a soft, chewy ciabatta. All sandwiches and breads are recommended to be eaten within an hour for the best freshness and crunch.

What ingredients do they use?

They're careful with ingredients too — unrefined raw sugar, and a tofu cream cheese made with domestic tofu and cream cheese. There's also handmade ham with a high meat content, so you can tell there's real thought put into ingredients as well as flavor.

That said, it's not a vegan or gluten-free brand, so keep that in mind before visiting.

Group orders available

Dance Dance Dance is great for a solo visit, but they also take group orders. If you need sandwiches for a work lunch, gathering, or event, just call the store 2–3 days ahead and they'll have everything ready in time.

Eating solo on the small terrace out front

The weather was so nice that day that I skipped the indoor seating and ate on the small terrace right outside the store instead. Nice sun, cool breeze — sitting there with a baguette felt more relaxing than I expected.

When you're looking for somewhere to eat lunch alone in Hannam-dong, having a spot like this really helps take the pressure off. I don't love eating alone somewhere too quiet or formal — I prefer places where you can order something simple and just relax, and Dance Dance Dance Hannam is exactly that kind of place I keep coming back to.

If you want coffee with your sandwich, they have a coffee menu too — a collaboration with Vision Stroll. I'd already had coffee that day, so I just ordered bottled water.

How does the fig pistachio baguette taste?

The baguette was crisp outside and chewy inside, filling enough to eat like a proper sandwich. The nutty pistachio tofu cream cheese added a softness to it, and the fig brought its mild sweetness plus that little seed-crunch texture that worked really well with the bread.

It didn't feel like a heavy, overly sweet dessert — with the baguette and cream cheese together, it worked fine as a light meal or brunch item.

Personally, I thought the fig pistachio combo was great. The sweetness of the fig, the nuttiness of the pistachio, and the crisp-chewy texture of the baguette all came together for an easy, light meal.

Fig season doesn't last long, so if you've been curious, it's worth trying before the season passes.

If you're looking for a sandwich shop that opens early in Hannam-dong, or somewhere to grab a simple solo brunch, this is worth a visit. It's also good for when you're hunting for lunch in Hannam-dong and a sandwich sounds right. And on a nice day, I'd recommend eating on the small terrace out front like I did. :)
