Mushroom-minari add-on shabu kalguksu, regular's revisit: Yunujae
In short
Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu is a shabu kalguksu restaurant near Munhyeon intersection in Nam-gu, Busan. The writer added mushroom-minari assortment for ₩5,000 and 140g of meat for ₩8,000 on top of the ₩11,000 per-person set, refilled the broth, and finished with kalguksu noodles and fried rice. With 2-hour parking support and house-made noodles, this is a strong recommendation from an N-time regular.

Munhyeon-dong's go-to spot, Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu

Let me introduce a place that's super, super famous as a Munhyeon-dong spot — Lucky's (that's me) N-th visit to my regular haunt, Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu.
Hours and parking
Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu is open daily 11:00–20:50. Parking is available in the Daerim Munhyeon City Plaza shopping complex with 2 hours supported. It's right at Munhyeon intersection, so it's really convenient to drive over from Daeyeon-dong, Seomyeon, Beomil-dong, and Jeonpo-dong too!
Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu's menu

The food at Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu is really delicious and the prices are so reasonable it's perfect for eating out. My husband and I always order shabu kalguksu for two and add minari, mushrooms, and meat. My sister-in-law, who lives in the Daerim City Plaza apartments, told me this spot always used to go out of business before Yunujae, and this is the only place that survived. A resident-verified good restaurant, haha ^^

Self-serve bar and sauce mixing
The self-serve bar has refill broth, seokbakji (diced radish kimchi), and kimchi ready to go. The ratio for the dipping sauce for the meat is soy sauce 2 to wasabi 1. Oh! The crispy seafood pajeon (savory pancake) here is also famous, and I saw lots of nearby tables ordering it — I still haven't tried it myself. I'll definitely have it next time and post another review.

What does the ₩11,000 per-person set look like?
The ₩11,000 per-person set comes generously loaded with shabu-shabu minari, mushrooms, meat, house-made kalguksu noodles, and even fried rice ingredients. Honestly, shabu-shabu is one of those dishes almost nobody dislikes — from teens to seniors, everyone loves it. That's why my husband and I eat it often too.

I'm the type who puts all the meat in at once, cooks it through, and eats it with the vegetables. Dipping the meat in the wasabi soy sauce — this is a flavor there's really no room to dislike. Hahaha, total favorite! There were lots of families out for dinner nearby, and some even celebrating birthdays. It was too crowded for me to photograph the interior, but it's clean and nice, perfect for a group gathering.

Adding the ₩5,000 mushroom-minari assortment and broth refills
I always, always add the ₩5,000 mushroom-minari assortment and refill it, because it's what I love. The broth is spicy and so delicious I can't stop.

Adding 140g of meat for ₩8,000
Meat add-on: 140g for ₩8,000. The color of the meat is great too, right? The reason a popular restaurant is always tasty is that with so many customers, turnover is high and ingredients never sit around going stale. They say they only use U.S. Choice-grade chuck flap and Australian S-grade beef that hasn't been butchered long ago, and indeed it's tender, no gamey smell, and delicious.
It's healthy, delicious food. Even though Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu is a popular spot, the owner and staff are all so kind! No matter how good the food is, I wouldn't keep going back if the service were unfriendly, but even when the restaurant is busy, Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu is full of kindness and smiles, so I always leave in a good mood — that's why I keep coming back.

House-made kalguksu noodles and the hourglass
Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu makes its own noodles in-house, so you can trust what you're eating. I love that you can see the noodles being made near the entrance. There's an hourglass so you know exactly when the kalguksu noodles are perfectly cooked.

Finishing with fried rice
Lastly, the fried rice. I'm the type who could skip the kalguksu but has to finish with this fried rice, and Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu doesn't hold back on ingredients — it's really delicious. Lucky strongly recommends this Munhyeon-dong spot with over 3,000 reviews.
