Suddenly I'm in posting-runaway-train mode, choo-choo 🚂🚂 This trip was so packed and satisfying that I had to brag about it right away!!! For anyone with a Jeju trip coming up, or looking for a tasty souvenir near the airport, let me recommend Suragan Tteokbang (수라간떡방), located in the city near the airport.

A Jeju rice cake shop perfect for picking up on the way to the airport
Arrived at Suragan Tteokbang, a Jeju rice cake shop! On the last day of the trip, buying omegi-tteok right before catching our flight was such a perfect route, so I was already excited before we even got there ✈️ There's space for about 3 cars right in front of the shop, so parking was easy too. We'd already ordered by phone ahead of time and just picked up, which made things way smoother 😎
Once inside, besides the omegi-tteok I'd ordered, there were all kinds of other mouthwatering rice cakes on display, so it was fun just to look around.
Omegi-tteok prices and sizes
The prices are quite reasonable too 👍 It's ₩22,000 for 20 pieces (packaged), and there are price tiers for 5, 10, 20, 30... all the way up to 100 pieces! So it's easy to pick the right amount for your headcount or purpose. Plus if you buy 30 or more, there's a Naver receipt review event that gets you 2 extra pieces of omegi-tteok — definitely take advantage of that 🙆🏻♀️ They also said they don't use any chemical additives at all, so it seems perfect for kids' snacks or for anyone looking for food they can trust!

Individual packaging and freezer storage
Opened it up and found an ice pack plus storage and eating instructions inside. Each omegi-tteok is individually wrapped, so it's hygienic and also great for sharing neatly with friends.
As instructed, the moment I got home I took them out of the box, spread them out, and froze them haha. Thanks to that, my freezer now looks completely packed with omegi-tteok!!!
30 seconds in the microwave: trying four flavors as a midnight snack
Night has fallen 🌙 Anyone who wants a midnight snack, raise your hand lol. Time to take the rice cakes out of the freezer and eat!!
The method is simple — cut in half and microwave for about 30 seconds, and it turns soft and chewy again as if freshly made 🤤 Let me give each flavor a careful review—
- Tangerine omegi-tteok 🍊: At first I thought, "does this really taste like tangerine?" but the more I chewed, a subtle citrusy aroma spread through at the end — genuinely charming!
- Black sesame omegi-tteok 🖤: The moment my husband and I took a bite, we both shouted, "this is totally my thing!!" Our top pick. The nutty, deep flavor is no joke... gotta ration this one...
- Soybean powder omegi-tteok 🤎: The instant I took a bite: "ah, a familiar flavor really is a scary thing!" — that nutty injeolmi (sweet rice cake) taste! Soybean powder is always right 💗
- Red bean omegi-tteok 🫘: After freezing, when I microwaved it the same way, the outside was still a bit cold so I ran it a little longer. But be careful not to overdo it, or the rice cake can melt and turn stringy ⚠️ This is the classic, original omegi-tteok style — filled edge to edge with red bean — so there's no way it isn't delicious!
With this much fun in choosing which to eat, I have a feeling one box of 20 will disappear in the blink of an eye. I was so satisfied that from now on I'm planning to keep a stash in the freezer and pop one or two in the microwave on busy work mornings ⏰
Don't buy at the airport — pick up in the city instead
On our way back, I noticed the omegi-tteok sold at rental-car gift shops or at the airport was much more expensive... Don't waste your money buying at the airport — stop by Suragan Tteokbang in the city beforehand and pick up delicious Jeju omegi-tteok instead! It's a flavor everyone, young or old, will love without exception, so I'm definitely planning to visit again on my next trip to Jeju 💯
