If you're looking for a fresh, generous sashimi takeout spot in Jeju's Dongmun Market, Dutumhoe Dongmun Market Main Branch came to mind. I wanted to enjoy it comfortably back at the accommodation as a late-night snack and drinking food, so I packed it up and brought it home-!

Where is Dutumhoe, and how close is it to Jeju Airport?
Dutumhoe Dongmun Market Main Branch is located close to Jeju Airport, so it's great to stop by right at the start of your Jeju trip! You can drop in for fresh sashimi to take away right after landing before heading to your accommodation, or stop by casually on the way back as you wrap up the day. Because it's so accessible, even travelers coming from far away can grab fresh, high-quality sashimi without wasting any travel time — that's a huge advantage!
Cooler bag and ice packs: does the sashimi stay fresh?

Dutumhoe Dongmun Market Main Branch packs everything in a cooler bag with ice packs inside. I was a bit worried the sashimi might spoil on the way since my accommodation was far, but thanks to how carefully it was packed, I was able to bring it home fresh and safe the whole way! It was reassuring even with a long travel time.

Thick-cut flatfish and sea bass sashimi, 25,000 won

The flatfish/sea bass sashimi (₩25,000) truly lives up to its name — the slices were unusually thick! Thick through and through! The moment one piece hit my mouth, that distinctive chewy bounce and thick texture filled my mouth completely!

Thanks to the fresh, savory flavor that came out more and more with each chew, I got to properly enjoy real Dongmun Market sashimi takeout! Paired with the wrap vegetables, my chopsticks kept going back without ever getting tired of it.

Futomaki, 13,000 won: a full-mouth roll

Futomaki (thick sushi roll, ₩13,000) — the futomaki grabs your attention with its size alone, and it really showed its worth when I took a big bite! It filled my mouth completely, and the flavors of the various fillings blended perfectly. It was a great side dish to pair with the clean-tasting sashimi, and also a satisfying meal on its own!

Coconut fried shrimp, 8 pieces for 10,000 won

Coconut fried shrimp, 8pcs (₩10,000) — besides the sashimi and futomaki, the coconut fried shrimp I added as a special extra was also an excellent choice! The crispy outside and springy, bouncy shrimp inside brought back memories of the coconut shrimp I ate in Guam!

Thanks to the subtle coconut aroma combined with the savory fried coating, I finished it all with delight!
Is Dutumhoe worth it? Overall verdict

It's good value and lets you enjoy fresh sashimi with ease, so if you're looking for takeout food to eat back at your stay, I'd recommend visiting Dutumhoe in Dongmun Market-!
