Baby-friendly tteokbokki restaurant at Yeouido IFC Mall: Hyeonseonine
In short
Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is a tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) and Korean snack restaurant on basement level 2 of IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul. Arriving with a stroller, the writer took an outdoor table next to the GS25 and ordered the Hyeonseon Set — tteokbokki, fried snacks, sundae (blood sausage) and mini gimbap — in mild spice, finding the sauce generous and the fritters freshly fried and crisp. With mini gimbap easy to eat even while wearing a baby carrier, Hyeonseonine is an easy choice for a meal out with a child.

After looking around Yeouido IFC Mall with my baby, I went hunting for a stroller-friendly tteokbokki spot in the mall and ended up at Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch.

Where is Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch, and what are the hours?
Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is at 10 Gukjegeumyung-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, basement level 2 of IFC Mall. It's open daily 11:00–21:00, last order 20:40, and also does delivery and takeout.
Since it's inside Yeouido IFC Mall, it's an easy stop after browsing The Hyundai Seoul, and it connects directly to Yeouido Station on Line 5 and Line 9, so it's really convenient.
Can you bring a stroller into Hyeonseonine at IFC Mall?

There were several 2- and 4-person tables inside for dining, plus outdoor tables right next to the GS25 convenience store. Since I came with a stroller, I used the outdoor seating so I'd have more room. Those outdoor tables really were spacious and easy to move around freely — very convenient.

Both indoor and outdoor seating had plenty of space, and since I visited around dinnertime, the place was noticeably busy with people eating solo after work!!!

At the self-serve bar you can help yourself to pickled radish, water, aprons, paper cups, soy sauce, salt, spoons and chopsticks, and other essentials.
What comes in the Hyeonseon Set?

They also have instant tteokbokki (boiled at the table), but since I had my baby with me, I went with the Hyeonseon Set, which lets you enjoy fried snacks, gimbap (seaweed rice roll), sundae (Korean blood sausage), tteokbokki, and a soda all at once — easier for the occasion.

The Hyeonseon Set comes with tteokbokki, fried snacks, sundae, and gimbap.
Is the mild tteokbokki still a little spicy?
At Hyeonseonine Premium you can choose from three spice levels for the tteokbokki: mild, medium, or spicy.

I'm pretty weak with spice, so I went with mild without hesitation — and even the mild level is plenty spicy!!

The rice cakes were wheat-flour ones, nice and chewy, and the tteokbokki sauce was spicy-sweet. And they gave a generous amount of broth, which I loved!
It had a clean spicy flavor without any of that heavy gochujang aftertaste. Mild is definitely spicy enough — but it's a spice level even a spice-wimp like me can handle just fine!

The seasoning soaked all the way into the rice cakes, and dipping the fried snacks, sundae, and gimbap into the rich tteokbokki broth made everything taste even better. Definitely try dipping them!
What fried snacks come with the set, and how crisp are they?

A varied lineup: vegetable tempura, fried mandu (dumplings), gimmari (seaweed-wrapped glass noodle rolls), fried squid, and fried sweet potato.

Everything came out freshly fried and piping hot, with a super crispy batter. Crispiness is everything when it comes to fried food, right?!

The fried squid was packed with plump squid, and the gimmari was even better after being dipped straight into the tteokbokki broth. Fried snacks and tteokbokki broth really are a combo that needs no explanation~
Sundae and mini gimbap: easy to eat with a baby

The sundae came generously portioned, with liver and other organ meats included too.

The sundae had no gamey smell and was nice and chewy — good dipped lightly in salt, and it also went well dipped in the tteokbokki broth.

The gimbap came as mini rolls, just the right bite-sized pieces, which made it easy to eat even while wearing my baby carrier.

The outside was generously brushed with fragrant sesame oil, and the fillings inside were packed in well too — definitely order it as part of the set if you can...!
If you're looking for a good tteokbokki spot at Yeouido IFC Mall, give Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch a try — it's easy to visit with a baby along.
