Yeouido IFC Mall snack restaurant set in 7 minutes: Hyeonseonine
In short
Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is a Korean snack restaurant on basement level 2 of IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul. Ordering the Hyeonseonine Set with Pildu Mom (필두맘) brought medium-spice tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cakes) in just enough sauce, hot crispy fried snacks and sundae (Korean blood sausage), all carried to the table by staff. Hyeonseonine was an easy stop for a hot, light meal before browsing the mall.

I went to check out IFC Mall in Yeouido with Piduddo Mom and got hungry, which is how I ended up at Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch. Long story short: we ordered a bunch of different dishes, everything came out fast, and staff brought it straight to our table so we could just relax and eat. There are so many self-serve places these days, so this was a nice change, haha.

Finding Hyeonseonine on basement level 2 of IFC Mall
There's a long stretch of moving walkways on basement level 2 of IFC Mall, and that's where you'll find this Yeouido tteokbokki favorite, Hyeonseonine.

We went around 5 pm on a weekday, right before the after-work rush, and it was already pretty full — a line even formed while we were eating, which tells you how hot a spot this is for Yeouido tteokbokki. You order at the kiosk in front, and staff call out your number and bring the food straight to your table once you respond.

What comes with the Hyeonseonine Set
The menu covers tteokbokki, sundae, gimbap (seaweed rice roll), fried snacks, eomuk (fish cake) and more. Since I wanted to try a bit of everything, I went with the Hyeonseonine Set. Last time I got the Hyeonseonine Combo Set, which comes with eomuk too, and it was seriously filling.

The Hyeonseonine Set came out about 7 minutes after ordering — really fast. The fried snacks were hot and crispy like they'd just come out of the fryer, and the sundae, fish cake broth, and tteokbokki were all nice and hot too, which I loved since I'm the type who likes hot food served actually hot. Compare that to the flagship Yongsan branch, where the Combo Set took nearly 30 minutes! This is a great spot for a quick, light bite if you're after Yeouido tteokbokki.
Mixed fried snacks and wheat tteokbokki in just enough sauce
The mixed fried snacks included mandu (dumplings), sweet potato, gimmari (seaweed rice rolls), squid, and vegetable fritters — plenty of variety, perfect for sharing.

The squid inside was nice and plump, and considering it only took 7 minutes to arrive, the crispiness was top-notch.

I also tried the tteokbokki, which has a wet, saucy style — great for scooping up with a spoon. I personally love tteokbokki with plenty of sauce like this. The seasoning tasted exactly like a good neighborhood snack restaurant's tteokbokki should. There's a choice of mild, medium, or spicy, and I went with medium — it was mild enough that even people who can't handle spice could enjoy a light kick. The rice cakes were wheat-based, so nice and chewy, and there was a generous amount of fish cake in there too. Dipping the gimmari in the extra sauce made it even better.

Fish cake broth and the savory mayo rice ball
The Hyeonseonine Set is basically the Combo minus the fish cake, but they still gave us fish cake broth on the side to sip along with everything, which was a nice touch. It was piping hot and warmed us right up.

Even at around 5 pm, the mini gimbap was already sold out — a real sign of how popular this Yeouido tteokbokki spot is. Instead, we got the savory mayo rice ball, which didn't have much in it but paired really nicely with the tteokbokki.

It looked like it had sesame powder, seaweed, mayonnaise, sesame oil, and pickled radish in it — nutty and savory, a good match for the saltier snack dishes.

Steaming hot chapssal sundae at Hyeonseonine
The sundae (blood sausage) came out covered in plastic wrap, still steaming, with a good mix of organs inside — the liver and lung had no off smell and tasted great.

Anyone else a fan of lung? I ate a few pieces myself.

This was the chewy chapssal (glutinous rice) sundae, full of savory depth. Salt, soy sauce, and pickled radish are all self-serve on the side.

A quick Korean snack stop before shopping at IFC Mall
If you're looking for a good Yeouido tteokbokki spot in IFC Mall, I'd recommend Hyeonseonine's IFC Mall branch. The food comes out fast, hot, and tasty, so it's a great light meal before heading into the mall to shop. Once we got inside the mall, we really felt the Yeouido price tags kick in though — ㅠㅠㅠ.
