True to a shop selling Jeonju Hanok Village street food, the building has a pretty tiled roof and an antique wooden structure, so you get the hanok village atmosphere right from the outside 🩶

The kitchen is fully open so you can watch the whole cooking process, which really boosted my trust in the place 📈 They insist on same-day production and same-day sale, frying only chicken that's been freshly prepped that day, so I could order with peace of mind 😌

As soon as our order went in, I watched them toss the fried shrimp and chicken into a big wok and stir-fry it carefully so the special spicy sauce coated every piece 🤩

When I picked up the packed box, it was genuinely heavy — I could tell right away the portion was generous 🫢

💡Handy tip here: when carrying dakgangjeong home, leave the lid slightly open so steam doesn't make the batter soggy — that keeps it crisp 🤤

Clean fruit sauce! How was the shrimp+chicken gangjeong, spicy (large)?

Here's the spicy shrimp+chicken gangjeong box, opened the second we got home 🔥 The box was piled high with dakgangjeong in red sauce and plump shrimp gangjeong, all finished with a sprinkle of nutty sesame seeds on top.

Their sauce is made with fresh fruit like apple and pineapple, so instead of an artificial sweetness it tasted bright and clean — no heavy aftertaste, just a refreshing finish.

Mannyeon Dakgangjeong's spicy version wasn't an aggressive, sharp heat — it was a light spicy-sweet sauce. That means it's a flavor pretty much anyone, of any age, can enjoy without complaint 😋 Since we picked spicy, the sliced chili peppers mixed throughout cut through any greasiness and added extra savoriness 🌶️

The shrimp gangjeong included in the box was just as good — springy shrimp, a crisp batter, and that fruity sauce all came together really well 👏🏻
