Lately I'm obsessed with macarons and all kinds of desserts, so I can't walk past anything sweet haha. This time I was at Gwangju Songjeong Station and found a special dessert! It's Ssukseu Choco Pie, famous as Korea's first mugwort (ssuk) choco pie 💚

🌿 A neatly organized interior. From mugwort choco pies to various desserts, everything was displayed cleanly.

I had fun just looking over each menu item wondering what to pick.

Right as I was about to choose, the owner offered me a taste 👀 And honestly, the moment I took a bite, I thought "wait, this is even better than I expected?" haha

They say a bear ate mugwort to become human 🐻 One bite and I totally get it. Before becoming human, I think I'll already be a regular at Ssukseu haha.

Choosing flavors for the 6-piece set

First off, the clean individual packaging already won me over!

Since each piece is individually wrapped, it's easy to keep them in the fridge and take one out at a time, and they feel neat enough for gifting too.

Each piece is also bigger than I expected, so I'm planning to stock up in the fridge and eat them one by one haha.

The moment I got home, I tried this one first. The subtle mugwort aroma and sweet chocolate go together better than I expected.

This one's basically made for people with old-lady taste buds like me haha. The nutty-earthy plus sweet combo is quietly addictive 💚

Udo peanut

In the morning, it was Udo peanut! I took one out this morning haha, and this is a totally different charm! The nuttiness of the peanuts is out of control haha.

How is it different from a regular choco pie

It has a slightly different charm from a regular choco pie.

Honestly, at first I thought, 'how special can a choco pie made with mugwort really be?'

But once I actually tried it, it's clearly different from a familiar choco pie! 'Ah, I get why they opened a store all the way in Seoul!' haha
