Magok pork BBQ restaurant for a family dinner in Seoul: Tamra Factory

In short

Tamra Factory Magok Direct Store is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Magok Station in Gangseo, Seoul, serving Jeju pork by the cut. On a weekday evening with his parents, the writer ordered thick Jeju pork neck and added pork skin, and the meat arrived already seared, so the table could talk instead of tending the grill. With parking in the building, Tamra Factory Magok Direct Store works just as well for a family meal as for an after-work dinner.

Hello!

I went to Tamra Factory Magok Direct Store for a good meat dinner with my parents on a weekday evening. :) It's a place in Magok where you can taste Jeju pork, and that day we ordered Jeju pork neck and pork skin. What I liked most was that the meat came pre-grilled, so I didn't have to grill it from scratch myself, and I could relax and chat with my parents through the meal. The thick pork neck was delicious, and the pork skin at the end was satisfying too — let me tell you about this Magok Korean BBQ spot, Tamra Factory!

Where is Tamra Factory Magok Direct Store, and how close is Magok Station?

Tamra Factory Magok Direct Store is on the 1st floor of Magok Innermass, 21 Magok-jungang 6-ro, Gangseo-gu, Seoul. It's close to Magok Station, so it's easy to get to by public transit too.

Since there are a lot of offices around Magok Station, this place seemed good not just for weekday dinners but also for people looking for a spot for an after-work gathering or meetup. If you're searching for restaurants near Magok Station and craving meat, this was a good location to visit.

Is there parking at Tamra Factory Magok Direct Store?

Tamra Factory Magok Direct Store has building parking, so it was convenient to visit by car too. I went with my parents and drove there.

When eating out with parents, taste matters, but so does checking whether parking is available. Especially for a family outing or gathering with several people, inconvenient parking can be stressful from the start, so being able to visit comfortably by car was a plus.

Inside the restaurant: family dinners and Magok work dinners alike

Walking into Tamra Factory Magok Direct Store, it had the comfortable feel you'd expect from a Korean BBQ restaurant. We visited on a weekday evening, and it wasn't at all too much for a meal with my parents; the tables were set up so a group could enjoy meat together comfortably too.

Magok itself has a lot of office workers, so it seemed like a fitting spot for colleagues to grab meat and a drink after work too. So beyond family dinners, it struck me as a solid choice for a Magok Korean BBQ spot for after-work gatherings or office meetups.

Jeju pork cuts on the menu, and what we ordered that evening

Tamra Factory is a place centered on Jeju pork, with a range of cuts to try. You can choose pork neck, five-layer belly, outside skirt, or pork jowl depending on your taste, and there's also a Tamra Han-pan platter for trying several cuts together.

For anyone looking for Magok samgyeopsal (pork belly) or Jeju pork, having this many cuts to choose from is a nice plus. Rather than ordering a lot of different things that day, we picked the pork neck we wanted to share with my parents, and after finishing that we added pork skin too.

Banchan, green onion kimchi and meljeot dipping sauce

The standard banchan (side dishes) came out, and when we asked for more they happily gave us extra! My dad had already eaten beforehand so we only had a little, but my mom said the green onion kimchi was delicious.

The pairings that come with the meat matter just as much as the meat itself! There were side dishes prepared to go well with the meat, so I tried them out piece by piece alongside the pork neck. It's tasty on its own, but the fun of meat is how the flavor changes depending on what you pair it with. :) Dipping it in melljeot, which goes well with Jeju pork, was also a special treat. Switching up the pairings with each bite of pork neck made for a slow, enjoyable meal with my parents.

How was the pre-seared Jeju pork neck?

Finally, our pork neck arrived! What I liked about Tamra Factory was that the meat comes pre-grilled when you order. At a lot of Korean BBQ places, someone ends up constantly flipping and grilling and can't fully focus on the conversation, but having it arrive partially pre-grilled made things much easier. Especially that evening with my parents, it was nice to sit and chat over all sorts of topics rather than being busy grilling.

I tried a piece of the thick pork neck, cooked just right, and both the texture and the juiciness were great. Personally, if pork neck is too dry I don't reach for it much, but this one was so good my parents and I kept picking it up, haha. At first we tasted the meat on its own, then combined it with the pairings one by one. Since you're not stuck eating it just one way, it stayed enjoyable all the way through without getting boring.

Pork skin ordered at the end

If you like Jeju pork and are looking for a restaurant near Balsan Station, keep the pork neck in mind too. After enjoying the pork neck so much, it felt a bit early to stop there, so we ordered pork skin as well. Adding pork skin at the end of a meal always changes the mood, haha.

Grilled to a golden brown, the chewy texture really came through! It was a completely different texture from the pork neck, so even after eating plenty of meat, I kept reaching for more. My parents enjoyed it too, and I was glad we added it. Finishing with the chewy pork skin instead of stopping at just the meat made that evening's dinner feel that much more complete.

Does Tamra Factory work for a group dinner in Magok?

Visiting on a weekday evening, I thought it would also work well as a spot for an after-work gathering or meetup. It's easy to reach from Magok Station and there's building parking, so you can plan around public transit or driving.

Above all, since the meat comes pre-grilled, if you visit with a group, no one has to be stuck grilling the whole time — everyone can just enjoy the conversation and the meal. It seems like a good fit for a Magok Korean BBQ spot for after-work meat with coworkers, or a restaurant near Balsan Station for an easy meetup. Especially for a group of coworkers who like Magok samgyeopsal or Jeju pork, the menu choices looked solid.

Final verdict on Tamra Factory Magok Direct Store

Tamra Factory Magok Direct Store, where I had a good meat dinner with my parents on a weekday evening. We had pork neck and pork skin that day, and the two dishes had clearly different appeal, so the combination worked well.

What stuck with me most was the pre-grilled meat. Eating out with my parents, I'm often busy grilling myself, but this time I could eat much more comfortably and chat along the way, which made the meal feel more relaxed. :) Thick Jeju pork neck, and chewy pork skin to finish! My parents enjoyed it, and I came away satisfied too.

With parking available, it was easy to visit by car with family, and on a weekday evening it also seemed like a good fit for a gathering or meetup. If you're looking for a restaurant near Magok Station to eat out with your parents, a Magok samgyeopsal spot to enjoy Jeju pork, or a restaurant near Balsan Station for a good after-work meetup, this one's worth a look. This was Tamra Factory, where I had a hearty meal of delicious Jeju pork neck and pork skin. :)
