Lotte Department Store has been really hot lately! ✨ From the basement 1st floor food hall to the fashion corner, it's been renovated and a bunch of trendy brands have moved in, so I find myself visiting often.

This is the Jeong Ji-young Roasters store on basement 1st floor. When it first opened I was shocked by the opening-day line! As a coffee lover I already knew about Jeong Ji-young Roasters, and I finally got to visit.

What's on the menu at Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters Nowon?

Here's the Jeong Ji-young Roasters menu board. There were a lot of coffee options — Americano, various lattes, black sesame latte — and here was the patented signature menu, coconut latte 😻

The default beans are dark roast, with medium and decaf available on request. What really stood out was the thoughtful touch of a free swap to decaf for pregnant customers.

There's also a wide range of hand-drip coffees and non-coffee drinks. With so much variety and a spot right next to the food court, it's a great place to stop after a meal.

What I ordered: the patented signature coconut coffee

I ordered the signature coconut coffee — Jeong Ji-young Roasters' patented signature drink, said to have already sold 1.11 million cups! I usually love coconut coffee and drink it often, so I was excited 💗

You can watch the coffee being made after ordering. Just standing nearby, the gentle scent of the beans put me in a good mood.

Instant coffee, drip bags and specialty beans on the shelves

Jeong Ji-young Roasters also has a variety of MD goods, so I took a look. First, easy instant coffee sorted by bean type — instant coffee is great for the office, haha.

Dripbags and whole beans are also for sale. From decaf to specialty beans from all over the world, there were plenty of options that make great gifts depending on taste.

How does the coconut coffee taste once you stir the layers together?

The Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters coconut coffee arrived! The gradient drink has distinct flavors layered on top of each other.

On top, shaking espresso covers it creamily; underneath, sweet coconut milk sits at the bottom.

You open the lid and mix it well. The fragrant espresso aroma made me feel really good ❤️

I'd been so curious, and sure enough it was delicious. The combination of flavorful, sweet coconut milk and smooth espresso was so good. It wasn't overly sweet, more of a sophisticated taste — that was really its charm. Not a light sweetness but a flavorful sweetness that kept coming to mind even after I left ✨ Highly recommend this cafe for anyone hunting for a great coffee spot in Nowon — it was right up my alley.
